Organization Description
SFOC was established in South Korea in 2016 with the goal of most effectively reducing greenhouse gases in line with the Paris Agreement's target to limit the global average temperature increase to within 1.5°C.
Under the mission of 'Accelerating the Global Transition to Renewable Energy and Phasing Out Fossil Fuels,' we continuously identify and expand on the most urgent issues that need to be addressed to combat the climate crisis. By collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders, we promote tangible change.
SFOC currently focuses on three major areas: Fossil Fuel Phase-Out, Industrial Decarbonization, and Renewable Energy Expansion. To drive effective climate crisis response, we employ a variety of tactics including research, communication, diplomacy, legal action, and civil society alliances.
Believing that 'People' are the key to tackling the climate crisis, we work alongside experts from various fields to engage in climate action. SFOC embraces a creative approach, unrestricted by conventional strategies, to find solutions.
We collaborate with partners in Korea, other parts of Asia, and around the world. Centered on climate agendas that SFOC emphasizes, we aim to grow as a key organization in the global response to the climate crisis.
Team Introduction
Designers in SFOC’s Production Team work across a wide range of areas—including branding, publishing, social media content, campaigns, and event design—to strategically visualize and communicate key climate issues to the public. We operate with a strong sense of autonomy and accountability, setting our own direction while collaborating with colleagues to achieve better outcomes together.

Job Description
- Create diverse visual content (e.g., advertisements, social media assets, print materials) to communicate climate-related topics to broader audiences and raise awareness
- Collaborate closely with SFOC’s program teams to plan and execute campaign design for specific issues
- Contribute as part of the in-house design team by developing work that maintains brand consistency and strengthens SFOC’s brand credibility
- Ability to plan and design various visual content (posters, card news, infographics, digital content, etc.) according to objectives
- Design capability to sensibly implement visuals by comprehensively considering layout, typography, color, and information hierarchy
- Ability to understand the intent of content and structure it into visual language aligned with its purpose
- Ability to communicate smoothly with diverse stakeholders (internal teams, external partners) and coordinate design direction through collaboration
- A proactive attitude to define and solve problems, and lead projects beyond predefined frameworks
- Curiosity and execution ability to explore new formats/types and experiment with creative content
- A collaborative attitude based on teamwork, with respect for diversity and inclusion
- A self-driven work approach based on autonomy and accountability, with the ability to set and execute the direction of work independently
- Minimum 2 years of experience in visual communication/design (freelance experience accepted)
- Proficiency in design tools such as Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator
- A portfolio based on practical work that includes the intent of planning/design and individual contributions
- Experience producing content for both print and digital environments
- Basic understanding of and interest in climate, environmental, and social issues
- Experience in social impact fields such as climate, environment & energy, and human rights.
- Experience in video & motion graphics (Premiere Pro, After Effects, etc.)
- English communication skills (ability to collaborate and understand/write work-related documents)

Employment Type
- 1-year contract, renewal based on team feedback, with a review for permanent employment after 2 years of continuous service.
- E-7 visa support will be provided to successful candidates if necessary.
- Required: Applicants must qualify for E-7 issuance eligibility.
