The Team You're Joining

  • Transitioning away from a fossil fuel centric financial structure is a decisive factor in achieving the Paris Agreement's goals and Korea's carbon neutrality commitment.
  • The Public Finance Korea team works to hold Korean public financial institutions accountable for fossil fuel financing and drive policy reform toward renewable based clean energy financing, through policy advocacy, research, civil society coalition building, and strategic communications.

How You'll Contribute

  • Investigate public finance institutions' exposure to fossil fuel financing, environmental and social impacts, stranded asset risks, and policy reform pathways
  • Produce or oversee policy briefs, reports, and data analysis that support campaign strategy
  • Engage key stakeholders including domestic and international civil society organizations, the National Assembly, public agencies, media, and investors, while strategizing and implementing related campaigns
  • Shape media narratives around the financial, economic, and climate risks of fossil fuel financing, develop materials for Korean and international audiences, and support op-eds, media actions, and awareness campaigns

Who We're Looking For

  • A critical thinker who can analyze complex policy and financial landscapes and translate them into actionable strategy
  • A strategic mindset, able to see how individual workstreams connect to larger campaign goals
  • A collaborative and open communicator, comfortable with close coordination across teams, partners, and external stakeholders
  • Comfortable working in a diverse, international environment with colleagues and partners across multiple countries and cultures
  • Fluent in Korean, with strong working proficiency in English
  • 1-3 years of professional experience in any relevant field; non-profit experience is not required, and we value transferable skills from any sector

Nice to Have

  • Background in public policy, finance, economics, law, or environmental studies
  • Experience working across cultures or in international teams
  • Familiarity with Korean public finance institutions or the energy policy landscape
