Diplomacy Team
Associate, Diplomacy
Organization Description
SFOC was established in South Korea in 2016 with the goal of most effectively reducing greenhouse gases in line with the Paris Agreement's target to limit the global average temperature increase to within 1.5°C.
Under the mission of 'Accelerating the Global Transition to Renewable Energy and Phasing Out Fossil Fuels,' we continuously identify and expand on the most urgent issues that need to be addressed to combat the climate crisis. By collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders, we promote tangible change.
SFOC currently focuses on three major areas: Fossil Fuel Phase-Out, Industrial Decarbonization, and Renewable Energy Expansion. To drive effective climate crisis response, we employ a variety of tactics including research, communication, diplomacy, legal action, and civil society alliances.
Believing that 'People' are the key to tackling the climate crisis, we work alongside experts from various fields to engage in climate action. SFOC embraces a creative approach, unrestricted by conventional strategies, to find solutions.
We collaborate with partners in Korea, other parts of Asia, and around the world. Centered on climate agendas that SFOC emphasizes, we aim to grow as a key organization in the global response to the climate crisis.
Team Introduction
SFOC’s Diplomacy Team was established in 2021 and has since developed a mid-term strategy to strengthen Korea’s role in international climate cooperation. The team engages with global partners, institutions, and networks to share timely insights on Korea’s climate and energy policies, while analyzing international developments and bringing those insights back to SFOC’s program work.
We are looking for a motivated Associate who can contribute to SFOC’s growing diplomatic efforts. The ideal candidate will have 1–2 years of experience in diplomacy, government affairs, or related fields — and a strong passion for advancing climate action.
