Organization Description
SFOC was established in South Korea in 2016 with the goal of most effectively reducing greenhouse gases in line with the Paris Agreement's target to limit the global average temperature increase to within 1.5°C.
Under the mission of 'Accelerating the Global Transition to Renewable Energy and Phasing Out Fossil Fuels,' we continuously identify and expand on the most urgent issues that need to be addressed to combat the climate crisis. SFOC currently focuses on three major areas: Fossil Fuel Phase-Out, Industrial Decarbonization, and Renewable Energy Expansion. To drive effective climate crisis response, we employ a variety of tactics including research, communication, diplomacy, legal action, and civil society alliances.
Believing that 'People' are the key to tackling the climate crisis, we work alongside experts from various fields to engage in climate action. SFOC embraces a creative approach, unrestricted by conventional strategies, to find solutions.
We collaborate with partners in Korea, other parts of Asia, and around the world. Centered on climate agendas that SFOC emphasizes, we aim to grow as a key organization in the global response to the climate crisis.

The Renewables Permitting team does this by providing the latest research and bringing together policymakers and experts from around the world. We inform decision-making around policies and regulations around solar and wind energy siting and permitting.
Job Description
SFOC designs campaign strategies to accelerate energy transition and raise climate ambition. We are seeking a Policy Analyst with a focus on offshore wind permitting who can support strategic planning and communicate our initiatives internally and externally.
The ideal candidate has policy research and/or industry experience, excellent communication skills, and passions to address climate change.

- Analyze key policy issues on offshore wind permitting and regulations
- Develop and implement campaign strategies to accelerate renewables deployment
- Engage with government, industry, and other stakeholders
- Communicate and build solidarity with domestic and international climate organizations
- Support other renewables permitting-related tasks as needed
- 5+ years of work experience
- Excellent strategic thinking and communication skills
- Strong project management skills to drive alignment and execution across teams
- Proficiency in Korean and English at a working level
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Passion for climate issues and a commitment to energy transition
- Offshore wind- or climate-related work/research experience
- Experience developing and implementing campaign strategies
- Experience engaging with stakeholders and partners
- Familiarity with Korean regulatory and policy processes
- Experience as a team leader or supervisor
- Strong writing skills

- 1-year contract, renewal based on team feedback, with a review for permanent employment after 2 years of continuous service.
