Role Overview

We are looking for a motivated and hands-on Food Processing Technician to join our production team. This role offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of biotechnology and food processing, contributing to the entire production chain, from bioreactor operations to final protein ingredients. You will work closely with process engineers, lab technicians and our Quality Control team, playing a critical role in scaling sustainable protein production.

Please note that this role is specifically suited to candidates with a background aligned to food processing, bioprocessing, fermentation, or related production-oriented technical fields. It is not intended for profiles primarily focused on Quality Assurance, Quality Control, or Agronomy through either academic training or professional experience.


Key Responsibilities

· Operate and monitor pilot- and industrial-scale bioreactors, ensuring optimal performance and productivity.

· Manage harvesting of microbial biomass, including concentration, pre-treatment, and drying processes.

· Support downstream processing steps, including sieving, packaging, and ensuring product quality.

· Perform cleaning-in-place (CIP) and sterilization procedures for all relevant systems, maintaining strict hygiene standards.

· Maintain accurate logs of process parameters, equipment performance, and batch data.

· Follow safety and hygiene protocols in line with FSSC22000 manufacturing standards.

· Collaborate with R&D and scale-up teams to implement process improvements and optimize production.

· Assist with raw material handling and inventory management for CO₂ fermentation and food processing operations.

· Develop troubleshooting skills to detect and resolve process or equipment issues efficiently.

· Perform routine equipment maintenance and support minor repairs as needed.

Qualifications & Skills

· Technical diploma or BSc in Food Technology, Bioprocessing, Biotechnology, or related field 2+ years’ experience in a food production, fermentation, or bioprocessing environment Familiarity with food-grade equipment and protocols (GMP/HACCP knowledge is a plus). Hands-on experience with unit operations such as mixing, separation, drying, or packaging. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow SOPs and batch records precisely

· Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with industrial equipment

· Ability to work in physically demanding conditions, including greenhouse environments and handling heavy weights

· Ability to work flexibly, including occasional shift work or weekend coverage Passion for sustainability, food innovation, and biotech solutions
