We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated Commercial Solar Foreman to lead our installation crews. The Foreman is a critical leadership position responsible for managing on-site operations, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires a licensed Journeyman Electrician who can effectively manage a crew, enforce safety protocols, and ensure every project complies with California's "Skilled and Trained Workforce" requirements under AB 2143.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Leadership & Execution: Lead a crew of 4-8 installers and apprentices, managing all on-site activities from mobilization to commissioning.
  • Safety & Compliance: Enforce all company and OSHA safety standards. Conduct daily safety meetings (tailgate talks) and ensure a culture of safety on the job site.
  • AB 2143 Compliance: Supervise and provide on-the-job training for apprentices as required by state law. Ensure the crew composition meets all "Skilled and Trained Workforce" mandates.
  • Quality Control: Guarantee all work is performed according to approved plans, specifications, and local codes. Perform regular quality checks throughout the installation process.
  • Planning & Coordination: Work closely with the Project Manager to develop daily and weekly work plans. Coordinate material deliveries, equipment rentals, and site logistics.
  • Problem Solving: Proactively identify and resolve any on-site construction or electrical issues.
  • ·      Documentation & Reporting: Complete and submit daily logs, progress photos, safety reports, and maintain accurate red-line drawings for as-builts.

Required Qualifications:

  • Valid California Journeyman Electrician License is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial solar installation.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a leadership role (Lead Installer or Foreman).
  • In-depth knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC), particularly as it applies to commercial PV systems.
  • Demonstrated experience leading crews and managing construction projects.
  • Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints, single-line diagrams, and technical specifications.
  • Valid California Driver's License and a clean driving record.
  • OSHA 30 certification.


Qualifications to Stand Out: ✨

  • NABCEP PV Installation Professional Certification.
  • Experience with Medium Voltage (MV) equipment.
  • Certifications for operating heavy equipment (Forklift, Telehandler, Scissor Lift).
  • First Aid / CPR certification.


Work Logistics:

  • This position is based out of our El Cajon, CA office.
  • The Foreman is expected to lead crews on job sites throughout Southern California.
  • Occasional travel to assist other teams outside the primary service area may be required.


Compensation

  • Solely based on experience - Foreman will be above the stated pay range

Schedule

  • Full-time, Monday to Friday
