The Battery Technical Sales Manager will be directly responsible for developing opportunities from prospect stage through to close. This role will support the development of sales strategies, conduct sales operations, and work to expand existing sales in collaboration with SolarEdge’s customer-facing sales teams. The successful candidate will be self-driven and results-oriented and will have the ability to learn and thrive in an agile customer-focused role.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Meet or exceed sales quota and contribute to SolarEdge’s top-line revenue goals
- Develop programs with key partners, finance companies and utility programs to further drive battery revenue growth
- Understand customer needs to identify and promote SolarEdge-driven solutions
- Partner with SolarEdge’s customer-facing teams to explore new business opportunities for existing customers with the goal of increasing revenue
- Support the improvement of sales techniques, operations, processes for the broader sales team
- Develop relationships with key customer decision-makers and map accounts to understand growth or expansion opportunities within the customer base
- Provide weekly updates to forecast with current revenue projections for existing customers and new opportunities; Develop account plans for key customers
- Support all customer engagement and growth activities such as lead/prospect engagement, conferences, trade shows, and in-person meetings
- Become intimately familiar with SolarEdge products and capabilities to competently present this information to customers
- Partner with SolarEdge’s Marketing team to help develop prospects and convert them into customers
- Collaboratively work with Market Segment Leaders and National and Regional Account Managers to drive business development and growth for next generation technologies
- Represent the voice of the customer to contribute to innovation by providing customer feedback as it relates to product application, technical specifications, delivery, quality and service
- Capture technical feedback from prospective customers and work with marketing, product management, and engineering to further engage and qualify opportunities
- Lead the development of additional sales channels to support growth objectives
- Provide elevated technical sales support for SolarEdge’s sales team and partner network
Requirements:
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- 10+ years in enterprise, solar or battery sales, with the ability to recognize the "decision-makers" and connect with them on an enterprise-level
- Desire and ability to thrive in a dynamic, high-demand agile environment
- Proven ability to create and drive the sales process from prospecting to close
- Demonstrated account management skills, preferably in a senior or leadership role, developing client-focused, differentiated, and achievable solutions
- Strong CRM reporting and organizational mapping skills; highly process-oriented
- Strong executive presence - experience and comfort level working with C-level execs
- Ability to collaborate with both technical and non-technical teams
- Excellent communication, listening, negotiation, and presentation skills
- Technical experience working directly in or peripherally with the battery market in either a sales or applications role is a plus
- Ability to travel 50-70%
- A passion for working to accelerate the global transition to clean energy
- Authorization to work in the U.S
- A Graduate technical degree is a plus
FAIR PAY & A JUST WORKPLACE
At SolarEdge, we are committed to fair, transparent pay and we strive to provide competitive, market-informed compensation. The pay range for this position in California at the start of employment is expected to be between $120K-$140K. Total compensation includes base, commission, and equity. Target commission is 50% of the base salary. It is anticipated that most qualified candidates will fall near the middle of this range. However, base pay offered is based on market location, and may vary further depending on individualized factors for job candidates, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations.
Even more importantly, please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at SolarEdge. Subject to those same considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a bonus and/or equity awards, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
