*Job Summary*

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Estimator to join our team in Buffalo. The Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, analyzing project requirements, and supporting project planning and bid preparation. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of construction methods, materials, and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

*Estimating & Cost Analysis*

* Prepare detailed cost estimates for solar energy projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontracted work.
* Review project drawings, specifications, and site conditions to ensure accuracy in takeoffs and pricing.
* Evaluate and analyze bids, proposals, and vendor pricing to ensure competitive and profitable outcomes.
* Maintain and update unit pricing, labor rates, and cost databases to reflect current market conditions.
* Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend value-engineering alternatives.

*Project Support & Coordination*

* Collaborate with the sales and engineering teams during the proposal phase to develop accurate and timely estimates.
* Support project managers by providing cost breakdowns and assisting with budgeting and forecasting.
* Review project changes and update estimates as required during design or construction phases.
* Participate in bid reviews and present estimate summaries to management.

*Documentation & Reporting*

* Ensure all estimates are well-documented and organized for internal reference and client presentations.
* Assist with the preparation of bid packages, proposals, and project cost reports.
* Maintain communication with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors for updated pricing and availability.

Qualifications

* Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
* 3–5 years of estimating experience in construction, electrical, or renewable energy industries.
* Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and scopes of work.
* Proficiency with estimating and takeoff software; experience with Microsoft Excel, AutoCAD, or Procore preferred.
* Excellent analytical, mathematical, and organizational skills.
* Strong communication and collaboration abilities to work effectively with multiple departments.
* Ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
