Director of Business Development North America
An international cleanenergy technology company with breakthrough longduration energy storage solutions is seeking an experienced Director of Business Development to lead commercial expansion across North America .
With proven largescale potential and a strong global project pipeline, the company is entering a new phase of commercial growth and this role will be central to building and managing that success in North America.
The Role
Reporting to the Senior Vice President, the Director of Business Development will drive the origination, structuring, and closing of customer and partner opportunities for largescale energy storage projects. The focus will be on developing strategic relationships with utilities, IPPs, developers, and industrial partners guiding projects from earlystage engagement through to contract execution and delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Building and managing commercial relationships with utilities, IPPs, and strategic partners to grow the North American project pipeline.
- Structuring commercial agreements including Equipment Supply Contracts, Tolling Agreements, and JV partnerships.
- Collaborating closely with the global technical, sales, and project execution teams to ensure delivery excellence.
- Leading negotiations and customer meetings from initial contact through to contract close.
- Representing the company at industry events, conferences, and stakeholder engagements across North America.
- Supporting project documentation, reporting, and pipeline management for both North America and global headquarters.
Ideal Profile
- 10+ years experience in business development or commercial leadership within the IPP, utility, or energyinfrastructure sector .
- Strong understanding of largescale power projects , energy storage, or thermal/gasbased technologies (e.g., LNG, hydrogen, biogas, steam turbines, or other compressionbased systems).
- Deep network and market knowledge across the North American energy landscape .
- Proven ability to structure and negotiate complex commercial contracts.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationshipmanagement skills.
- Entrepreneurial mindset, handson approach, and genuine interest in innovative cleanenergy technologies .
- Degree in Engineering, Business, or a related technical field; MBA advantageous.

Location: Boston, MA Salary: $250,000.00$300,000.00 (Base salary and potential bonus)
Location: Waltham, MA Salary: $175,000.00$195,000.00 (Base salary and potential bonus)
