Quality Assurance Technician
Job Description
Join an experienced team providing Quality Assurance on a large scale, multi-year residential energy retrofit program in Portland, OR.
Duties
· Review detailed proposed Scopes of Work for whole-house retrofits (shell, mechanical systems, critical repairs) and provide feedback to installing contractors. Work requires leaning/running detailed audit/documentation software.
· Perform field audits of jobs, providing detailed documentation of findings
· Perform diagnostic tests to determine whole house air leakage duct leakage, combustion safety, and other important metrics
· Mentor installing contractors on these tests as needed as they get up to speed
Qualifications
· At least 2 yrs experience working in existing residential homes with focus on weatherization and critical house repair (structural, functional, health/safety issue) identification
· Consistent ability to work both in a team structure and independently and to and document work carefully
· Experience working with weatherization and HVAC contractors
· Experience with energy modeling and job tracking software
· Experience with detailed house testing, including whole house and duct air leakage, duct static pressure and system airflow, combustion safety
· Ability to work consistently in field situations with a variety of physical characteristics
· Ability to work with varied site occupants, building contractors, and sub trades
· Bilingual capacity (Spanish) desirable
· Building Performance Institute certifications (BA-T and BA-P) desirable
