Sustainability Engineer
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and/or manage sustainability and energy transition projects, including carbon accounting, target setting, net-zero roadmaps, carbon credits, Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs), carbon policies, and carbon project development.
- Manage project delivery by coordinating resources, schedules, subcontractors, budgets, and risks to ensure timely and high-quality outcomes.
- Prepare and contribute to proposals, bids, and technical submissions for new sustainability and energy transition projects.
- Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams, actively sharing knowledge, insights, and best practices with colleagues.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Climate Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 2–5 years of relevant experience in the execution of sustainability, decarbonisation, or carbon development projects.
Knowledge and Skills
- Familiarity with sustainability and ESG reporting frameworks and standards.
- Strong understanding of emerging sustainability, carbon market trends, standards, and policies.
- Working knowledge of carbon accounting methodologies and the GHG Protocol.
- Experience or knowledge in Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and Science-Based Target (SBT) setting.
- Understanding of climate-related risks, opportunities, and resilience assessments.
- Knowledge of nature-based solutions and carbon credit project development.
- Exposure to Carbon Capture, Utilisation and Storage (CCUS) processes and supply chains.
- Understanding of green hydrogen supply chains and the broader energy sector.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the confidence to engage effectively with clients, government agencies, and partners.
- High attention to detail, with strong analytical, presentation, and technical writing capabilities.
