About Your New Job
As Solar Service Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Solar Service Department. You will ensure that maintenance, fault-finding, warranty and service work is delivered safely, efficiently and to a consistently high standard.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Manage and schedule the Service Technician team to ensure efficient service delivery and rapid customer response.
- Oversee service requests from initial triage through to completion, prioritising emergencies and minimising backlogs.
- Act as the main customer contact, providing technical support and regular service updates.
- Coordinate quality audits, O&M appointments, equipment, spare parts and subcontractors.
- Lead, coach and support technicians, including assistance with technical fault diagnosis.
- Monitor service performance, develop KPIs and report on departmental results.
- Identify recurring issues and implement process improvements, automation and proactive maintenance initiatives.
- Support the growth of new revenue streams through proactive servicing and O&M services.
- Maintain high standards of health and safety, compliance and service documentation.
What Skills You Need
To apply, you will need:
- At least two years’ Experience managing, scheduling or coordinating field service operations is essential.
- Strong planning, organisational and prioritisation skills.
- Excellent communication and customer relationship management abilities.
- Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills, especially under pressure.
- Experience using service management software, such as Zoho Desk.
- Analytical, KPI-focused and commercially aware.
- Strong leadership and people-management skills.
- Understanding of warranty management and service contracts.
Experience in solar PV, electrical, renewable energy or building services would be desirable, as would a solid understanding of fault-finding and maintenance principles.
