For our Offshore Equipment Operations department, we are looking for a highly skilled Construction Engineering Manager (CEM) to manage the planning and execution of project activities involving our Equipment and who is eager to play an important part on a dynamic and multi-cultural organization within the renewable energy industry.
The CEM role shall perform according to company strategy and be fully aligned with all key stakeholders of the role and that as a manager the leadership principles of trust, empowerment and ownership are followed. The CEM reports directly to the Head of Construction Engineering Management.
The role is based at our new Offshore Execution Project Office Hub in Vejle, Denmark. You will be collaborating with your counterparts in Poland, India and the UK and the role will require international travel, for example within Europe (and possibly APAC and US in future), between different office locations and sites, and offshore visits - we will expect you to plan to be where you need to be.
How to contribute to our vision
You will be responsible for managing the planning and construction activities associated with SGRE’s contracted scope of works in relation to all required Equipment. You will have budget responsibility in accordance with relevant processes and procedures. In the project organization you will report to the Construction Project Manager (CNPM) and under such direction take the client interface for any activities involved Equipment.
Key tasks will include but not be limited to:
- Align standardized concepts to project contractual requirements and strategy in cooperation with the CNPM
- Responsible for inputting into the Construction Execution Plan for Equipment related scope
- Responsible for the successful planning, coordination, control and execution of all Tooling and Equipment scope, including key resources and site set up and all associated activities in co-operation with the relevant departments and groups
- Ensures the project is successfully executed within the defined requirements of budget, time, quality, and functionality of the Equipment related package of works that our CEM’s manage for our Offshore Construction Projects
- Facilitate sub supplier selection within role scope and coordinate contract management of sub-suppliers
- Functionally lead and manage (within the project environment) supporting groups / sub-team members
- Ensures business success and satisfaction of the customer and ensures professional stakeholder management
- Ensures timely decisions on open issues, reporting of progress and escalating issues as necessary
- Manages a network of technical specialists to realize customer specific components, systems or solutions
- Management of Risk and Opportunities and Claim Management within role scope
- Works within PM@SGRE principles
- Strives for developing and implementing cost out initiatives in own area of responsibility
- Leads by example of being goal focused, result driven and motivated to continuously improve the business
- Focused on all relevant / applicable EHS rules and guidelines as well as in internal SGRE standards & guidelines e.g., regarding Quality, EHS, processes, compliance etc.
- Build and maintain a strong professional network inside and outside the company
- Actively promotes creation of transparency in all aspects
What you need to make a difference
Passion for renewable energy and a sense of the importance to lead the change. We are also looking for:
- Strong Project Management skills and experience in budget control and financial reporting
- Ideally a minimum 10 years of experience in Offshore Wind, complex construction projects, or a similar and relatable industry
- A relevant degree in Engineering, Project Management or Business Administration
- A passion for renewable energy and a sense of the importance to lead the change
- Comfortable working in an international, multi-cultural team and capable of working effectively across department boundaries in a large organization
- Possess excellent leadership, management, and people skills. Your negotiation and communication skills in English and Polish, both written and verbally, are excellent
- Ability to handle conflicts and be a solution orientated individual who can understand technical issues
- Ability to give input to strategic ideas and suggestions for improvements within the role and the department
- You are detail-oriented, result-oriented and an excellent communicator
