We are now recruiting for a number of High Voltage Technicians to join SiemensGamesa Renewable Energy Offshore team. As a High Voltage Technician, you will be part of a permanently employed project High Voltage team who are dedicated and responsible for the high voltage installation, commissioning and energization of wind turbine projects in line with safety guidelines, project requirements, corporate methods and industry legislative standards.
This role will be based in Taiwan and as such you will predominately based locally although you may be required to work at other projects Worldwide (EU, US). The role will provide you with lots of variety, learning and development opportunities along with an exceptional team culture. You will follow a shift pattern therefore a flexible approach to travel and working away from home on a continuing basis is essential.
What are my Responsibilities?
Your key responsibilities will be installation, commissioning and energization of wind turbines, primarily working on equipment above a 1000V A/C 1500V D/C mainly transformers, Cables and Switchgears you will also be responsible for Switching responsibilities and as such a key task as will be keeping and maintaining the relevant documentation as per company policy, while working offshore on the wind turbines
This role is also responsible for training, mentoring and sharing knowledge with trainees and colleagues alike.
What do I need to qualify for this job?
Candidates will be Electrically Skilled and as such you will have the appropriate electrical industry qualifications. You will ideally be qualified electrician, have a Taiwanese B level certificate for voltage levels above 1000V A/C and 1500V D/C, and experience from the utility industry, working on transformers, cables and Switchgears.
Prior experience from the Wind industry will be an advantage.
This role requires a high level of Health and Safety focus with experience of working with safe systems of work. You will demonstrable ability to work as part of a team and/or on own initiative and also have the ability and confidence to work at height. This includes appropriate physical fitness to climb and undertake some physical work. You will also be comfortable and experienced working in adverse weather conditions.
You will be a strong communicator with proven ability to successfully interact at various levels in an organisation and where necessary taking into account different cultures. You will also have a high level of IT literacy.
