Service Technician Offshore Oostende

We are looking for a service technician to join our team in Oostende. As a service technician, you will work under an SGRE maintenance technician executing ordinary and extraordinary maintenance and troubleshooting inside the offshore wind turbines. The technician will have 14 days on and 14 days off based onboard within an offshore wind service operation vessel (SOV).

The main tasks of the service technician are to perform mainly pre-defined technical tasks, for example, basic commissioning of products and systems, integration of components to a system, basic engineering, maintenance jobs, and support customers remotely and onsite.

The service technician will coordinate and accomplish defined service operations and/or resolves product issues for customers equipment while providing support in generating sales leads for pre-defined service offers and contribute to planning activities.

The focus will be on adhering the defined processes and applicable regulations. As part of choosing right solution, the technician will be responsible for improvement measures and modifications.

You should have a desire to learn about electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic schematics as you will be responsible of the general maintenance of the turbines.

Your main tasks consist of implementing ordinary and extraordinary maintenance actions on the electrical and electronic parts of the turbine, analyzes and diagnoses faults in the electronic and electrical systems, using specific schemes and automated control systems and support (video screens from which check the performance of the machinery); identify the fault, carry out the repair and replacement of parts, modules or tools.

Ensuring that on-site work is always carried out with safety as the highest priority. It is crucial that you will be fully compliant with SGRE safety codes and have a history of being able to follow set procedures.

A candidate with at least a high school diploma (mechanical or electrical is a plus) and minimum 2 years of experience in the electricity- or mechanical industry (Experience in wind industry is considerated a significant advantage).

A candidate that is comfortable working at high altitudes and should have thorough and high safety awareness.

Driving license is a requirement in the service and you shall be flexible and prepared to travel as our customers' wind farms are spread over a large geographical area.

It is important to communicate in English, both written and verbal, as some of the documentation and other tasks are completed in English.

The ideal candidate is accurate, has good computer skills, an educational degree in electricity, hydraulics or mechanics is meritorious, as well as experience in wind power, electricity, mechanics or hydraulics would be an advantage.
