Position Overview:
  • A passion for renewable energy and a sense for the importance of leading the change to a greener future.
  • Dimensions parts or elements for a technical solution as to the requirements and related to a specific technical field.
  • Relocation will not be offered for this role.
  • Lead investigations using root cause analysis and continuous improvement techniques
  • Collaboration with International teams and working in different company cultures which requires proven international experience and cross-cultural understanding.
  • Support of the technical processes for replacement and repair concepts as well as work instructions for turbine components, including up-tower repairs
  • Support of the technical process in the specification of remedial measures
  • Assist and/or develop technical design solutions
  • Release of the refurbishment report to customers
  • Prepare and participate in technical meetings with customers (remotely or in person) and lead assigned priority topics
  • Identify technical issues trends and occurrences within the fleet and prepare technical awareness documentation to be followed by the site operations team
  • Responsible for multiple major projects of the high complexity requiring forefront-of-the-field & innovative solutions
  • Initiate new Failure Mode communication on main components
  • Technical support for MTI, claims and warranty management and other departments
  • Ensure the correct reporting of incidents and accidents, near misses and unsafe acts and conditions
  • Report field experience to specialized departments and decision boards
  • Discuss and present descriptions of problems with colleagues worldwide
  • Analyze failure modes on site as well as remotely
  • Troubleshoot and finds appropriate solutions to arising issues
  • Share experience and knowledge with the team
Required Knowledge, Education, Experience and Skills
  • A master or bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, or comparable qualification
  • Several years of professional experience in the wind industry
  • Must have solid experience with the following skills: demonstrated ability to lead discussions on performance claims at wind turbine and park (wind farm) level with customers/owners; experience leading root cause investigations to understand, contain and potentially solve incidents in a geared turbine
  • Ability to work with a diverse and international work environment
  • A team-player, confident to share new ideas and help all departments and colleagues
  • Strong communication skills including the ability to convey knowledge clearly and understandably to internal or external contacts
  • Good analytical and diagnostic skills
  • Conscientious and independent way of working
  • Drive to expand expertise and improve processes
  • Must have very good knowledge of English (C1 or C2)
  • Approximately 20% travel required to offices and wind turbine sites both domestically and internationally.
  • Ability to work at heights
