Supplier Quality Manager - Blades

Ensures and improves the supplier quality in the assigned area of dedicated business (products and services). Implements SQM requirements regarding preventive actions, technical specifications and qualification of suppliers. For India Supplier Quality & Development Blades Team, we are looking for an experienced Supplier Quality and Development Engineer to ensure continuous focus on the qualification of suppliers and products in India region. Supplier Quality has the overall responsibility for qualifying new suppliers and securing that all qualified suppliers consistently meet Siemens Gamesa’s system and product requirements as well as corporate responsibilities.
In this role you will have the opportunity to cover the following:
- Drive the qualification of new and current suppliers, in accordance with SGRE internal procedures.
- Be responsible for performing supplier Product and Process qualification through PPAP (APQP4Wind) approach.
- Ensure that the product and process quality of suppliers is compliant with SGRE requirements: Plans and executes Supplier Audits including follow-up of audit measures.
- Investigate, analyze and correct quality discrepancies in relation to products and quality at supplier, including Non-Conformances (NCR) handling and 8D set up in a quick response time.
- Drive supplier performance by building & establishing effective correction and improvement actions
- Continuously improve suppliers and mitigate potential risks to achieve SQ targets and collaborates in supplier development programs
- Participate in interdisciplinary and cross-functional workgroups as Supplier Quality representative. (E.g. Commodity team meetings, Product Development reviews, Factory Quality reviews, Project/Service forums).
- HSE awareness: Identify and report HSE risk situations detected at suppliers and take actions to eliminate the situations.
You are what we are looking for if ….
- You have a Bachelor or Master’s degree in Engineering or an equivalent professional background, combined with a minimum of 5 years of quality experience in Wind industry (Blades manufacturing is Preferred).
- You have expert knowledge on Blades manufacturing process and relevant materials. You possess material sciences and related EN/ISO standard knowledge as well as a good EN/ISO understanding of drawings and specifications
- Product and Process auditing experience, management system auditing experience with ISO 9001 or similar are mandatory.
- Proven Experience in the areas of supplier development, implementing and performing APQP and PPAP activities will be preferred. Furthermore, certification within Lean and/or Six Sigma will be perceived as an advantage
- You have strong interpersonal and communication skills and are capable of interfacing with numerous parties at all levels in a multicultural environment.
- You possess excellent English (both orally and written)
- You have IT skills, including SAP, MS office applications, etc.
Please note that you should expect approx. 40-80 travel days per year.
