Implements global, and/or develops local guidelines for effective Tax management for assigned functional area or country in order to optimize the Tax position in compliance with local tax law.
Qualification: Chartered Accountant (CA)
Experience: 10-12 years of experience in indirect tax compliance and advisory roles. Strong knowledge of GST, customs, excise, and other indirect taxes in India.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with proficiency in Tamil/ Kannada / Telugu language proficiency / understanding.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to use data to drive decision-making.
Experience in a global multinational corporation is preferred.
Job location: Redhills, Tamil Nadu.
A. Devise strategies for Tax planning and ensure effective implementation of standard processes related to indirect taxes across all locations.
B. Review the proposals/ bids/ agreements from indirect tax point of view and provide inputs.
C. Ensure full compliance in terms of monthly GST payments, return filings, MIS.
D. Ensure compliance with all the necessary statutory and regulatory requirements.
E. Respond to queries raised by statutory departments related to indirect taxation in an appropriate and timely manner.
F. Respond to queries related to indirect taxation raised by tax department in an appropriate and timely manner.
G. Ensure timely action is taken on appeals, and pursues effective resolution, compilation and spread work for the same.
H. Liaise with lawyers and coordinate to ensure that the company is appropriately represented before statutory bodies and courts.
I. Reply to all queries raised by the department
J. Establish and implement effective documentation system for maintaining documents related return filings, replies, litigations etc., and ensure that the documents are easily retrievable.
K. Manage performance of the team and ensure that team is working in line with organizational value system.
