Commodity Manager - ESS & LVP
A Snapshot of Your Day
You will lead the Energy Storage System and Low Voltage Platform commodity, driving product reviews, benchmarking, supplier strategy, and cross‑functional collaboration. The role requires strong stakeholder management, staying aligned with internal partners, adapting strategies to market changes, and developing key suppliers while tracking emerging technologies. You will ensure transparent communication across the commodity team, monitor KPIs, support project‑specific deep dives, and enable continuous improvement to strengthen overall supply chain performance.

How You’ll Make An Impact
- Responsible for developing and implementing the commodity strategy, reinforcing the commodity team with support from other functions to ensure proactive engagement from the business
- Work closely with the business management to ensure their business needs are captured in the strategy (cost, quality, lead time, capacity etc.) and facilitate regular feedback to the business management through key performance indicators
- Ensure all sourcing requirements from the business have suitable strategic supply options, including dual/multiple source options
- Work closely with technology counterparts to facilitate changes that enable the best solutions in the commodity strategy including the incorporation of latest technologies (e.g. material changes, cost out activities etc.)
- Manage the commercial relationship with the key suppliers in the commodity by conducting face to face visits and facilitating business reviews looking at all aspects of the trading relationship (contract status, quality performance, delivery performance etc)
- Ensure contractual coverage is in place through negotiating framework agreements and price agreements with the key suppliers
- A degree in an appropriate commercial (e.g. Supply Chain Management) or technical (e.g. electrical engineering) field would be preferred but time served experience in similar roles will be considered in lieu of a degree
- At least 8 years of experience in a direct supplier facing capacity in strategic purchasing roles
- Strong negotiation skills and a good understanding of contract terms & conditions with experience of leading high value negotiations
- Cooperative and target-oriented mindset while facilitating that teams and stakeholders work toward the same goals and strategy for the area
- Working knowledge of energy storage systems, batteries and assemblies / outsourcing activities are an advantage
