Commercial Sales - Finance
A Snapshot of Your Day (position overview) In this role, you will lead all commercial and financial activities across the full sales and bid process. You will prepare and negotiate commercial and financial terms and conditions across the portfolio, including Substation Projects (Greenfield, Replacement, Refurbishment, Extension), LTSA, O&M contracts, and small orders. You will also lead process improvements during the Sales/Bid phase and partner closely with the sales team to ensure accuracy of the OI forecast. How You'll Make an Impact (responsibilities)
- In this role as Commercial Sales, you will analyze customer requirements, evaluation methods and criteria in order to develop the winning strategy together with the Sales Manager
- Understanding business conditions as well as competition pricing
- Define business models based on business, customer and tax regulations
- Handle all commercial aspects of the bid such as contract analysis, cost calculation, financing concepts, currency, hedging, risks and opportunities, bonds, terms of payment, credit rating, insurances, export control, compliance etc.
- Relationship management with external project collaborators such as customers or consortium partners.
- Prepare and present the Limits of Authority (LoA) according to the protocol required and acting as sparring partner for regions and bid team members
- Participate in negotiation of T&Cs with the applicable guidelines, lead commercial negotiations in coordination with the relevant departments (e.g. Legal, SFS, insurance, Taxes, etc.)
- Ensuring the correctness of the relevant approvals in accordance with the actual negotiations and providing lessons learned to financially and contractually comparable projects
- Hands-on attitude is required to manage well the full scope of financial and commercial activities during the sales phase
- Support the Sales Manager in preparing the OI forecast to ensure greater accuracy in the figures.
- A degree in Business Administration/ Management, Finance, Accounting or equivalent professional experience
- Minimum 8 years of hands-on experience in commercial finance, business administration, project controlling, or related fields
- Analytical thinking, result and quality-oriented approach, solid professional judgment and problem-solving ability is required competencies
- Ability to conceptualize & socialize ideas, make recommendations and gather team consensus to move forward
- Thorough understanding of GAAP and IFRS, SAP knowledge, Microsoft Office, as well as strong analytical skills
- Knowledge in business analytics tools (Alteryx, Power BI, Tableau or similar) as well as experience and curiosity about leveraging Artificial Intelligence to address business needs is considered a plus
