Grid Technologies is looking for a Project Controller to join its Finance team. In this role, you will partner closely with Project Managers to oversee the financial and commercial performance of projects within the energy and grid infrastructure sector, including HVDC systems, offshore wind connections, substations, transformers, and battery storage solutions.
How You’ll Make An Impact
- Managing financial and commercial activities during project execution, including contract analysis, cost and margin analysis, guarantees, credit assessments, currency hedging, payment terms, invoicing, cash flow management, cost tracking, and reporting.
- Supporting the sales team during the bidding and proposal process, including credit checks and cost calculations.
- Assisting the Project Manager in identifying, evaluating, and assessing risks and opportunities, negotiating changes with customers and suppliers, and developing mitigation strategies and response actions.
- Contract management, including risk and claims management.
- Collaborating in cross-functional international teams.
- Providing legal and financial support and advice throughout all project phases.
- Handling logistics, tax, warranty, and insurance matters.
- Ensuring accurate project setup and maintenance in SAP in accordance with Siemens Energy's commercial and financial guidelines.
- Preparing monthly forecasts based on project progress, with close coordination with factories and the Project Manager.
- Ensuring compliance with IFRS 15, reporting guidelines, and internal controls.
- A completed Bachelor's degree (HBO level) in Business Economics, Business Administration, Economics, or a comparable educational background, or equivalent knowledge and experience gained through professional practice.
- Strong communication skills with project stakeholders, both nationally and internationally, and at least 3 years of experience in a similar role.
- Strong capabilities in project finance planning and execution, including managing the commercial and financial aspects of customer projects, developing budgets, forecasts, and cash flow plans, monitoring invoicing and payment milestones, supporting contract and claims management, and conducting financial performance analyses to ensure project profitability and successful delivery.
- Expertise in reporting, controlling, and forecasting, including preparing project status reports and financial forecasts, performing month-end project closing activities in accordance with IFRS and company guidelines, maintaining accurate project data in SAP and other financial systems, and analyzing project profitability.
- Experience in risk, opportunity, and compliance management, including commercial risk assessments, internal controls, and audit coordination to ensure compliance and effective governance.
- Good knowledge of IT systems such as SAP and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Excellent communication skills and a good command of both Dutch and English, both spoken and written.
