Job Title: Site Safety Manager – Solar Construction Project
Location: Herkimer, NY
Pay Rate: $47.00/hour + $120/day per diem (for days worked)
Schedule: Monday–Saturday | 40–60 hours/week
Contract Length: 3+ Months (Through Late December)
Job Overview:
A high-impact renewable energy construction project is seeking a Site Safety Manager to oversee safety performance and regulatory compliance. This is a contract-based opportunity supporting the construction of solar and energy storage infrastructure. Ideal candidates will have proven site safety experience in construction and a strong working knowledge of OSHA standards.
Responsibilities:
Enforce all site safety policies in compliance with OSHA, state, and local regulations
Conduct site audits and daily inspections to identify and correct safety hazards
Lead safety training sessions including PPE use and site protocols
Support incident investigations and prepare accident reports
Collaborate with site leadership to implement and monitor safety goals
Conduct and document risk assessments
Assist with hygiene programs, including noise and ventilation surveys
Ensure closure and documentation of safety recommendations and findings
✅ Qualifications:
OSHA 500 Certification required
Minimum 3 years of experience in construction site safety management
Experience conducting jobsite safety audits and implementing corrective actions
Strong communication skills with the ability to lead safety briefings and training sessions
Proficiency in hazard assessment and root cause analysis
Solar project experience preferred but not required
