1. Project Leadership and Management

Lead the Project Team: Take responsibility for effectively utilizing the team and managing resources to plan and organize work efficiently within the specified timeframe.

Direct Daily Activities: Oversee the day-to-day activities of Senior, Junior, and Mechanical Engineers in the design of mechanical and HVAC systems. Provide guidance and training to newly hired engineers and designers on project execution methods and technical skills.

2. Technical Expertise and Analysis

Analyze Mechanical Load and Energy Calculations: Expertly review and interpret mechanical load and energy calculations using software such as Trace3D Plus, HAP, IES, eQuest, and Design Builder.

Apply Advanced Technical Skills: Utilize experiential learning and advanced technical skills for AIR, HYDRONIC, and STEAM systems to ensure effective project execution.

3. Knowledge of Codes and Standards

Maintain Industry Knowledge: Keep up-to-date with HVAC industry codes and standards, including ASHRAE, SMACNA, NFPA, IMC, IBC, IECC, and local regulations.

4. System Design and Equipment Knowledge

Understand Mechanical Equipment: Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of mechanical equipment, such as WSHP, FCU, AHU, RTU, DOAS, Cooling Towers, Chillers, Boilers, Heat Exchangers, Pumps, and Fans. Apply this knowledge to system design and project execution.

Develop HVAC Systems: Independently and collaboratively handle all phases of HVAC design, from initial conception to construction documents, for various project types including retail, commercial, residential, educational, renovation, recreational facilities, and pool HVAC projects.

LEED Documentation: Prepare comprehensive LEED documentation for proposed facilities, ensuring adherence to US Green Building Council requirements.

Quality Control and Compliance Checks: Conduct quality control reviews of project documentation, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance with industry standards. Perform thorough compliance checks to meet necessary permitting criteria.

Conduct Design Analyses: Analyze client-provided layout plans, equipment specifications, site-related information, and investigation reports to inform HVAC design and implementation strategies.

Provide Conceptual Designs: Develop conceptual designs for HVAC systems that align with project requirements and client expectations.

Calculate Ventilation Indexes: Ensure compliance with ventilation standards by calculating and analyzing ventilation indexes according to multiple codes.

Create BMS Architecture Diagrams: Develop detailed HVAC Building Management System (BMS) architecture diagrams, control point list diagrams/tables, and associated sequences of operation to support system automation and control.

5. Review and Coordination

Assess Design Packages: Review and assess engineering design packages for constructability before issuing them to contractors to ensure practicality and feasibility.

Address RFIs and Submittals: Handle Requests for Information (RFIs) and review submittals and shop drawings with a focus on detail and accuracy.

Collaborate with Manufacturers: Work with manufacturer representatives to select appropriate equipment and prepare comprehensive equipment schedules.
