Job Overview:

A leading renewable energy company is seeking a Senior Power Analyst to join its Energy Management team. This role focuses on providing front-office analytical support for asset optimization activities within the North American power and gas markets. The position offers the opportunity to work on innovative projects that drive the clean energy transition, influencing strategies that maximize portfolio value.

Responsibilities

  • Develop hedge strategies across energy, capacity, ancillary services, and renewable products.
  • Provide analytical support for budgeting, acquisitions, and development initiatives.
  • Apply market fundamentals and statistical tools to inform trading and hedging decisions.
  • Analyze PJM and ISONE capacity auctions to guide strategic moves.
  • Monitor market trends, ISO pricing, and regulatory changes to anticipate impacts.
  • Design and maintain front-office systems that support trading and risk management.
  • Collaborate with Compliance, Risk, Regulatory, Development, Finance, and Accounting teams to influence decision-making.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Economics, Mathematics, Finance, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.
  • 2-5 years of experience in North American power and gas markets.
  • Proficiency in Python and SQL, with experience using version control tools like Git.
  • Strong understanding of energy or commodity markets and a willingness to deepen expertise.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects independently and maintain organizational efficiency.
