Do work that makes a difference

Join an organisation who’s making a real difference to Victoria's energy future. SEC’s passionate people are working to support the transition to renewable energy and delivering affordable, reliable, renewable energy for all Victorians.

We offer hybrid working with offices in Melbourne’s CBD and Morwell.

What your day could look like

Each day will be fast-paced, strategic and highly influential as you partner with the CEO, Executive team and leaders across the business to provide Strategic Direction & Executive Advisory. You’ll lead thought-provoking discussions, challenge complex problems, uncover opportunities and translate big-picture thinking into clear, actionable recommendations that help shape the SEC’s future and accelerate Victoria’s renewable energy transition.

You’ll also drive Energy Market Insights & Commercial Analysis, leveraging market intelligence, research and modelling to identify emerging trends, evaluate opportunities and build compelling business cases that support critical investment and strategic decisions. Alongside this, you’ll champion Strategy Execution & Performance Improvement, working across the organisation to turn strategy into action, track performance, remove roadblocks and ensure key initiatives deliver meaningful outcomes for the SEC, its stakeholders and Victorians.

What you need to be successful

You’re a commercially minded and intellectually curious strategist who thrives on solving complex challenges and influencing decisions at the highest levels. Combining strong analytical capability with exceptional stakeholder engagement skills, you can confidently navigate ambiguity, bring structure to complex problems and translate insights into meaningful outcomes. You'll be energised by working in a dynamic environment where strategic thinking, collaboration and adaptability are critical to driving impact.

  • Significant experience in strategy, management consulting or high-performing in-house strategy teams, with the ability to shape recommendations and deliver outcomes in complex policy, regulatory or technical environments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, supported by tertiary qualifications in economics, business, engineering or a related discipline, with the ability to distil complex information into clear, actionable insights.
  • Proven ability to build trusted relationships across diverse stakeholders, navigate uncertainty with confidence and influence decision-making through effective communication. Experience in Australian energy markets, particularly the NEM, and exposure to market or financial modelling will be highly regarded.
