Role Description The Laboratory Assistant role at Sea6 Energy is a full-time, on-site position based in Thoothukudi. The Laboratory Assistant will support routine laboratory operations, including sample collection, preparation, and basic analysis related to marine biomass and associated processes. Responsibilities include handling and maintaining laboratory equipment, following established protocols, recording and organizing experimental data, and assisting in quality control checks. The role also involves preparing reagents and solutions, ensuring a clean and safe laboratory environment, complying with safety and documentation requirements, and collaborating with scientists and technicians to support ongoing research and production activities.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess strong laboratory skills, including familiarity with basic operation, maintenance procedures, electrical and plumbing and safe handling of materials.
  • Candidates should possess effective communication skills, including clear reporting of findings, collaboration with team members, and responsiveness to instructions.
  • Relevant qualifications such as a Diploma in Engineering or Bachelor’s degree in biology, or a related field are preferred.
  • Knowledge of basic safety practices, good laboratory documentation, and familiarity with environmental or marine-related work is an advantage.
  • Ability to follow standardized procedures, manage time effectively, and work reliably in an on-site laboratory setting is required.
