What you'll do
Become part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the all-electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following:
- Build, execute and continuously improve security policies, planning protocols and operating procedures for off-site events, coordinating closely with Executive team, 3rd party vendors and external event management
- Lead and coordinate corporate event security activities, including conducting physical site surveys, conduct travel and venue risk assessments prior to events and build risk-informed security plans coordinating with 3rd party vendors
- Develop and implement corporate security policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure the protection and continuity of company operations, assets, and employees
- Lead and coordinate crisis management activities, including the creation and maintenance of crisis response plans and teams
- Strengthen the culture, process, and embedment of staff and organizational preparedness through training and exercise initiatives
- Oversee the design and delivery of security awareness training programs to educate employees on potential threats and best practices for prevention and manage high-risk or large scale business- and/or life-safety related incidents in accordance with documented processes, including managing day-to-day operational aspects of crisis management
- Accountable for tracking and regular reporting, indicating compliance with annual program requirements
- Manage relationships with external security vendors, consultants, and law enforcement agencies as necessary
- Stay up-to-date with the latest security trends, technologies, and regulatory requirements, and provide recommendations for improvements
- When necessary, conduct incident investigations, report on findings, and implement corrective actions to prevent future security breaches
- Maintain effective communication channels with key stakeholders, including executive management, Commercial, Strategy, HR, IT, and Legal departments
- Foster a culture of security awareness and compliance throughout the organization.
- Other tasks as assigned by the Director, Security and Fire Protection
The Event & Crisis Readiness Sr. Specialist position requires 24/7 availability for incident response through an established on-call rotation.
Location & Travel Expectations: The role will be based out of Scout Motors corporate location in Novi, MI and requires regular attendance at one of the corporate or commercial facilities. Applicants should expect regular business travel (domestic and international) will be required with an estimate of 30-40% initially for the first 2-3 years.
What you'll bring

- 8+ years of relevant experience plus a BA/BS in a relevant field, OR 6+ years and MS/MA/MBA in a relevant field such as Security Management, Criminal Justice, or Business Administration. Relevant certifications or equivalent work experience will also be considered.
- Proven track record of successfully managing event security planning and implementation through third party vendors and teams with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
- 5 years of experience in a corporate or public-sector emergency or crisis management program, including participation in a crisis/incident/emergency management program as a team member, leader, or program manager.
- Strong in-depth knowledge of security principles, standards, and regulations (e.g., ISO 22301, ISO 31000, NIST) and their practical application.
- Fluency with comprehensive safety and security models, including risk assessment methodologies, executive protection protocols and active and passive security measures.
- Excellent understanding of crisis management principles and experience in developing and implementing crisis response plans with demonstrated experience managing complex, large-scale exercises that span multiple teams and multiple countries across the globe.
- Experience managing a corrective actions program and developing strategies to remediate identified business risks.
- Proven experience in designing and delivering effective security awareness training programs, ideally within a large-scale industrial environment.
- Excellent analytical problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to identify and assess potential risks and develop effective mitigation strategies.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact and collaborate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Relevant certifications such as National Preparedness Leadership Initiative (NPLI) or Certified Protection Professional (CPP) are highly desirable.
- Ability to work and take decisions independently, handle multiple priorities, and adapt to changing circumstances in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Proven ability to lead and motivate a team, with a focus on fostering a positive and inclusive work environment.
- Knowledge of relevant local, state, and federal regulations related to security and emergency management.

Pay Transparency
This is a full-time, exempt position eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.
Initial base salary range = $120,000 - $140,000
