Overview

As a Launch Project Management Specialist, you'll be at the heart of industrializing new Scout vehicle projects - driving them from concept to series production. You'll serve as a strategic connector between production and key business functions including R&D, product management, procurement, marketing, finance, and quality.

Your mission: Ensure flawless execution, cost-efficiency, and production readiness across every milestone.

What you'll do

Become part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following:

  • Drive production readiness by coordinating tasks, milestones, timelines, and activities across all production functions.
  • Ensure cost-efficient and timely implementation of vehicle projects from a production perspective.
  • Act as a key interface between production departments and cross-functional partners (R&D, product management, procurement, marketing, finance, and quality).
  • Prepare and support steering committees, ensuring transparency and readiness for decision-making.
  • Monitor project maturity and risks, proactively resolving deviations from targets and implementing countermeasures.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to project team members, assisting in problem-solving and decision-making.
  • Apply lessons learned and best practices to improve future project and production performance.
  • Design and implement processes that foster a high-performing organization and drive production efficiency.

Location & Travel Expectations:

  • This role will be based out of the Scout Motors location in Columbia, SC and Blythewood, SC.
  • The responsibilities of this role require daily attendance in office with in-person meetings and events regularly.
  • Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time.

  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in business, Engineering, or related fields. Specialization in production Project Management is a plus.
  • Professional Experience: 5+ years of experience in passenger car production, preferably in a production project management role.
  • Proven track record: In automotive projects from concept phase to series production, including achieving product development process milestones in production.
  • Mindset: Structured, analytical, and proactive approach to complex challenges.
  • Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities to collaborate effectively with internal departments, suppliers, and stakeholders.
  • Technical Understanding: Strong grasp of automotive production processes and their influence on project milestones and deliverables.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Proven ability to identify challenges early and implement effective, sustainable solutions.
  • Prioritization capability: Strong competence to manage parallel workstreams and to address proactively address risks and dependencies.
  • Process Optimization: Experience in analyzing and improving production and project processes to enhance efficiency and apply best practices.
  • Financial Acumen: Competence in tracking and forecasting key performance indicators (KPIs), with a focus on cost and investment control.
  • Tool Proficiency: Skilled in project management tools (e.g. Jira, SharePoint), MS Office (e.g. PowerPoint, Excel, Decisions, Planner) and AI-enabled collaboration platforms.
  • Volkswagen Group systems: Experience with AVON, KVS, TEVON, TI-Synchro is mandatory.

Pay Transparency

This is a full-time, exempt position eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.

Initial base salary range = $110,000.00 - $135,000.00
