What you'll do

The Process Improvement Specialist, Production is responsible for a productivity throughout the Scout Motors production site and the establishment of a reliable and robust Production System. The Specialist will report to the Director, IE & Production System.

Become part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following:

  • Establish, promote, and refine the Lean culture of Scout as well as a unified production system for the Scout Motors production site
  • Develop, implement, and track measures to increase productivity in relation to relevant KPIs
  • Define and establish processes and optimization concepts for production
  • Develop and secure productivity and budget KPIs of the plant
  • Set up and develop production process plans as well as identify, evaluate and coordinate the time factor/labor requirements and management of production time credit
  • Develop site specific programs, strategies, communication concepts, and objectives agreements
  • Define and track company guidelines and process development for all departments as well as track VBZ and HPU budgets for all departments
  • Design workplace and new work processes, including their system-side mapping with work boards, layouts and point plans, taking into account methods, walking routes, supply of materials and vehicle sequence
  • Optimize shift systems and production speeds in order to fit output and manpower requirements
  • Collaborate with supervisors, employees, cross-functional departments - in compliance with existing guidelines, standards and regulations - to continuously improve processes

Location & Travel Expectations: The responsibilities of this role require daily attendance at in-person meetings and events regularly. This role will be based out of the Scout Motors location in Columbia, SC. Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time.

What you'll bring

  • 5+ years of professional experience in industrial production
  • Bachelor's/Master's degree in mechanical, electrical engineering, or related fields
  • Experience in Lean Management and Industrial Engineering, like:
    • Factory systems for time factor calculations and process management
    • Industrial engineering studies
    • Human work design tools
    • Lean management
    • MTM method
    • Continuous improvement process management
  • Desired skills
    • Moderating and coordinating optimization workshops
    • Process planning and sequencing of product sequences
    • Product understanding and derivation of the effects on processes, equipment and ergonomics
    • Skills in web-based applications
    • Costumer orientated skills

  • Ability to develop presentation materials and presenting results to cross functional teams and leadership
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously

Pay Transparency

This is a full-time, exempt position eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.

Initial base salary range = $110,000-$130,000
