What you'll do

Become part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the all-electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following:

Instructor

  • "Expert trainer" for Skilled Team member/leader, maintenance Specialist and Technician for Scout Motors
  • Conduct Train the trainer
  • Instruction and teaching of mechanical and electrical skills to new hires and all technical personnel
  • Development and conduct of qualification seminars

Maintenance Technician

  • Release Robot out of failure mode
  • Basic PLC knowledge and programming
  • Exchange of simple mechanical / electrical (low voltage) components
  • Transport Equipment (Broderson, Forklift)
  • Robot programming under and without Supervision
  • Troubleshoot PLC
  • Advanced mechanical / electrical components exchange
  • Ability to understand technical drawings
  • Use specialized equipment to diagnose broken equipment
  • Shimming with and without supervision

Location & Travel Expectations: The responsibilities of this role require attendance at in-person meetings and events regularly. This role will be based out of the Scout Motors location in Columbia, SC. Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time.

What you'll bring

  • Associate's Degree in engineering technology or related field
  • Ability, with or without reasonable accommodation, to work any shift and work some overtime
  • A minimum of 4 years of combined experience and training like that required in a bona fide apprenticeship program like Industrial Controls or related field in Robotics, Siemens PLC, or Automation
  • Experience in the Maintenance Technician field in a manufacturing or automation environment.
  • Experience working with blueprints, drawings, layouts, electrical schematics, or other specifications.
  • Siemens (or similar) PLC, Robotics, Integration experience supporting manufacturing operations including knowledge and troubleshooting experience to locate and diagnose malfunctions in automation systems or equipment.
  • Capable of using instrumentation, both mechanical and electrical, to perform diagnostics of the systems electro-mechanical functions.
  • Experience in preventative maintenance including replacing broken or defective components in automation equipment or machines.
  • Experience in Lean Management and Total Productive Maintenance.
  • Documentation that verifies the following: Employment letters and training records; and manufacturing or automation experience in the Maintenance Technician field in Robotics, PLC or Automation. Completed training certification (i.e. Siemens Lvl 1 )

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience as a Technical Instructor/Trainer
  • Experience with micro controller programming for equipment optimization.
  • Experience with machine vision applications, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
  • Strong computer skills
  • Experience with computerized maintenance management systems.

Pay Transparency

This is a full-time, exempt position eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.

Initial base salary range = $120,000-$140,000

Internal leveling code: IC8
