Salary dependent on experience with up to 10% Annual Bonus, Single Person Healthcare, Shift Allowance and £100 per night on Service Operations Vessel (SOV)

Purpose

As an Offshore Electrical & Mechanical Technician, you will support the safe and efficient operation of offshore assets across the East Anglia Hub. Working as part of the offshore team, you will carry out maintenance, inspections and technical support activities on foundations, transition pieces, offshore substations and associated offshore systems.


This role plays a key part in maintaining asset integrity, supporting compliance and ensuring the continued performance of the windfarm.


You will apply strong technical and safety standards while supporting both preventative and corrective maintenance activities across all offshore Balance of Plant systems.



Responsibilities

Carrying out offshore maintenance and inspection activities on Balance of Plant (BOP) assets, you will be required to support mechanical, electrical and hydraulic tasks within your competence, assisting with fault identification, troubleshooting and corrective actions on offshore equipment.


Working in accordance with offshore procedures, RAMS and ScottishPower Renewables safety rules, you will support activities on offshore substations in collaboration with HV teams and contractors, participating in daily offshore coordination meetings onboard the SOV, completing required offshore documentation which will include work reports, inspection records and defect notes.


Preparing tools, equipment and materials onboard the Service Operations Vessel (SOV) for daily work scopes, you will also escort contractors, technicians and other personnel offshore when required, contributing to the continual improvement of maintenance practices and offshore standards.


Upholding and promoting ScottishPower Renewables’ strong health and safety culture, challenging unsafe behaviours and ensuring all offshore work is delivered to a high safety standard, you will assist with HV switching, isolation and earthing under the instruction of the SAP, in accordance with ScottishPower Renewables High Voltage Safety Rules.


Supporting offshore audits, compliance checks and scheduled BOP inspection routines on foundations, TPs and offshore substations, you will request and process required offshore permit-to-work documentation, assisting with preparing and checking offshore spares, tools and materials ahead of work execution onboard the SOV.


You will be required to undertake internal and external training relevant to offshore BOP operations. Opportunities may include development in electrical, mechanical or hydraulic disciplines, as well as additional Health & Safety qualifications.



What you’ll bring

Experienced working in offshore wind or a similar offshore or industrial environment, you will be competent in mechanical, electrical or hydraulic maintenance (any one discipline suitable) with an ability to work safely and effectively in remote offshore conditions.


Possessing strong organisational, communication and teamwork skills, you will hold a proactive attitude and willingness to adapt to different types of offshore tasks with a commitment to maintaining a robust safety culture.


Bringing your strong work ethic with self-discipline, motivation and a proactive approach to offshore maintenance activities, you will be able to adapt to changing offshore work environments, weather constraints and operational priorities.


Experienced working on large-scale projects, ideally in the Offshore Wind Industry, you will possess Offshore experience, GWO Basic Safety Training (BST), OGUK Medical & Chester Step Test, Slinger Banksman and Advanced Rescue knowledge and training.


Willing to travel within the UK and Europe on occasion, necessitating overnight stays, you will be able to transit offshore via marine transfer without suffering from sea/travel sickness.


With a flexible approach to working hours to ensure the delivery of planned and unplanned activities, you will also have a willingness to work offshore aboard the SOV on a rotational basis (2 weeks on / 2 weeks off) and offer flexibility to support EA Hub operations beyond primary offshore responsibilities when required.
