What Makes This Role Exciting
- You’ll be at the centre of strategic legal activity, advising on corporate M&A, joint ventures, and transformational commercial projects.
- You’ll work directly with executive management and senior stakeholders, helping to steer the legal direction of our most critical initiatives.
- You’ll be the key legal interface between ScottishPower and Iberdrola, ensuring seamless collaboration across borders and business units.
- You’ll help shape legal strategy, manage risk, and unlock opportunities that accelerate our journey to net zero.
- Lead and deliver legal support across strategic projects and transactions
- Act as subject matter expert on M&A, joint ventures, and corporate activities
- Draft and negotiate complex commercial agreements
- Provide clear, commercial legal advice to senior stakeholders
- Identify and manage legal risks across the ScottishPower/Iberdrola Group

- A current UK practicing certificate and LLB (or equivalent)
- Strong experience in a corporate/commercial law role
- Proven expertise in M&A, joint ventures, or strategic transactions—ideally within the energy sector
- Experience in a leading legal advisory team (in-house or private practice)
- Strong commercial awareness and the ability to deliver pragmatic, business-focused advice
