Our Corporate Affairs team is looking to add two brilliant communicators, with strong media relations backgrounds, to its high performing team. If you love telling great stories, cultivating relationships with journalists and managing high profile media moments, then we want to hear from you.

Working as part of our strategic communications team, you will help manage media relations across ScottishPower’s electricity networks, renewables and customer businesses. You will advise our CEO and senior leaders, shaping external narratives, and managing crisis communications. You’ll act as a trusted spokesperson, build strong relationships with top-tier journalists, and deliver compelling campaigns that position ScottishPower as a leader in the UK energy transition.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Provide strategic media counsel to senior executives
  • Develop and execute communications strategies aligned with business priorities
  • Manage all proactive and reactive media relations across the group, including out of hours on-call rota
  • Lead on high-stakes issues management and crisis communications
  • Build and maintain relationships with regional, national and international media


What You’ll Bring

As a minimum, you will bring

  • Extensive experience in media relations within a corporate or fast paced environment
  • Strong communication and influencing skills at senior levels
  • Proven ability to manage complex issues and deliver under pressure
  • Knowledge of energy markets or other regulated industries and public policy is desirable
  • Confident, proactive, and collaborative with excellent networking skills
  • Current full driving licence - Regular UK and occasional EU travel required
