Help us create a better future, quicker
In this role, you will lead the end‑to‑end commercial contract cycle for multi‑million‑pound, business‑critical agreements, from strategy and procurement through to implementation, management and renewal. You will play a key role in shaping and delivering contract strategies for the SPR UK Onshore Operational Portfolio, maximising value and mitigating commercial risk. With specialist expertise in contract management, you will identify, develop and deliver competitive tendering strategies that support the commercial and performance objectives of our UK onshore windfarm maintenance and Service & Maintenance programmes. Alongside this, you will provide strong leadership, development and line management to contract managers within the team, ensuring high performance and consistent delivery across the function.
What You’ll Be Doing
Working closely with Procurement and O&M teams, you will prepare detailed contract scopes for invitations to tender, ensuring SPR’s technical and commercial requirements are fully captured. You will collaborate with Legal and O&M management to determine the most appropriate contract forms and lead the evaluation of technical and commercial submissions, presenting clear recommendations to senior stakeholders. Your expertise will be instrumental in negotiating commercial terms that balance operational objectives, risk mitigation, and value delivery, including supporting Senior Managers on high‑value or high‑criticality contracts.
In this role, you will lead audits and assessments of key suppliers and contractors, informing the ongoing development of contract strategies and ensuring commercial risks are effectively managed. You will oversee commercial meetings with contractors, monitor claims, and maintain strong supplier relationships through detailed contract review and proactive engagement. Acting as a key point of contact for O&M and Commercial teams, you will provide clarity on contract timeframes, costs, payments, scope and budget implications, while also ensuring strong coordination with Procurement and Control departments to support successful business delivery.
You will play a central role in ensuring compliance and consistency across SPR’s contract management processes, supporting the development and implementation of best practice within the ISO:9001‑accredited Integrated Management System. This includes ensuring system requirements are embedded in all designated contracts, acting as SAP requisitioner, and supporting internal commercial awareness training across O&M teams. You will also be responsible for ensuring adherence to key commercial terms, including service and maintenance price adjustments, indexation, penalties and incentives, driving accurate delivery of contractual requirements throughout the contract lifecycle.
What You’ll Bring
As well as a competitive salary which is reviewed annually, you can also enjoy a number of other benefits. With our pension scheme, we’ll double match your contribution up to a company contribution of 10%.
