They will play a crucial role supporting the delivery of business objectives through the delivery of land rights for and the delivery of large-scale, 10-year investment strategy more than £350m across the ScottishPower estate.
The increased volume of delivery and projects requires specialised focus on how we plan and schedule delivery to meet business objectives. The Programme Planner will support the Programme Manager (and other Planners) by leading the coordination and compilation of capital programme schedules and taking lead responsibility for programme scheduling strategy, ensuring that all project schedules for all capital projects are tracked, analysed and reported to maximise project delivery efficiency and reduce critical path risks.
This role will work closely with the Programme Manager and Operational Teams to ensure the right scheduling frameworks are developed and adhered to as part of the overall investment strategy.

What You'll Be Doing
- Leads the definition, implementation and continuous improvement of Planning & Scheduling standards and ways of working across all Programmes
- Provides Planning & Scheduling training
- Leads the integration of Earned Value metrics into project schedules, such that Planned Value (PV) and Earned Value (EV) are accurately tracked and aligned with schedule baselines
- Audits Planning & Scheduling standards across the projects
- Oversees month end Schedule Reporting processes to align with Governance & Reporting Analyst
- Reviews and quality checks Project Schedules
- Monitors Contractor Scheduling Performance across the portfolio
- Provides expert scheduling advice in relation to key project planning matters and supports resolution
- Generates portfolio wide scheduling reports and metrics
- Contributes to the continuous improvement of the Programme by championing lessons
- Significant Development and/or Construction Management planning experience within complex engineering environments
- Track record of successfully developing, implementing and managing complex project programmes, managing teams of project planners and delivering large scale programme management
- Experience of working in a planning function and interfacing with several internal and external stakeholders including multiple external contractors and suppliers in the delivery of large scale £multi-million projects through pre-construction, construction to operation transition stages
- Experience of managing detailed construction programmes
- Ability to translate technical detail into commercial and programme impact
- Health & Safety experience and appropriate mindset
- Tenacity, persistence and determination to succeed
- Excellent report writing and presentation skills
- Ability to identify and match resources and skills to appropriate planning roles
- Ability to communicate effectively with GSUK management and with contractors
- High capacity for change and experience of leading others through change
- Sound planning and analysis skills with the ability to look forward and anticipate problems and thereafter plan and implement mitigating solutions
- Ability to manage people effectively to deliver required outputs in a timely manner
- Ability to work under pressure and to meet tight deadlines
- Developed contractual awareness
- Experience using P6 preferred but not essential
- Degree educated or a relevant professional qualification will be considered
- Development and / or Construction Management planning experience within complex engineering environments
