The Personal Assistant (PA) to the Customer Service & Connections Director plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth, efficient, and effective operation of the Directorate. The postholder provides high‑level administrative, organisational, and coordination support, enabling the Director to focus on strategic leadership, customer performance, regulatory priorities, and cross‑functional decision‑making. Acting as a key point of contact, the PA manages complex and fast‑moving commitments, ensures the Director is fully prepared for all engagements, and maintains strong communication flows across SP Energy Networks and with external stakeholders.
The PA is responsible for maintaining exceptional standards of confidentiality, professionalism, and attention to detail while coordinating diaries, preparing briefs and materials, managing correspondence, and supporting senior meetings and governance activities. The role demands excellent judgement, proactive problem‑solving, and the ability to anticipate needs in a dynamic customer‑focused environment. By providing seamless operational support and enabling effective prioritisation, the PA contributes directly to the overall performance, responsiveness, and customer service excellence of the Directorate.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Provide comprehensive administrative and PA support to the Customer Service & Connections Director, managing correspondence, information flow, and day‑to‑day priorities effectively.
- Manage complex diary and schedule requirements, coordinating meetings, travel, logistics, and ensuring the Director is fully briefed and prepared for all engagements.
- Act as a key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, maintaining professionalism, confidentiality, and strong communication on behalf of the Director.
- Prepare high‑quality documentation, presentations, reports, and meeting materials, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and timely delivery.
- Coordinate and support senior‑level meetings and governance activities, including minute‑taking, action tracking, and distribution of relevant materials.
- Proactively monitor and prioritise incoming requests, issues, and deadlines, exercising sound judgement and anticipating needs in a fast‑paced, customer‑focused environment.
- Manage sensitive, confidential, and critical information with discretion, ensuring compliance with organisational standards and best practice.
- Support the wider Customer Service & Connections Directorate through coordination of key activities, events, communications, and cross‑departmental interactions to enable effective and efficient operations.
- Support the Senior Customer Service & Connections senior management team with where needed with booking, travel etc as they required
- Help maintain practical standards across our buildings by supporting ways of working, cleanliness and safety ensure a professional image across our Directorate at all times.
- Proven experience providing high‑level Personal Assistant or Executive Assistant support within a fast‑paced, senior leadership environment, managing complex and competing priorities effectively.
- Strong organisational and planning skills, with the ability to manage demanding diaries, coordinate logistics, and ensure the Director is consistently well‑prepared for meetings and engagements.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to draft correspondence, prepare high‑quality documents, and engage confidently with internal and external stakeholders on behalf of the Director.
- High level of professionalism, discretion, and judgement when handling confidential or sensitive information, ensuring compliance with organisational standards.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital collaboration tools, with the ability to prepare presentations, reports, and meeting materials to a high standard.
- Demonstrated ability to anticipate requirements, solve problems proactively, and adapt quickly in a dynamic, customer‑focused operational environment.
- Experience coordinating senior‑level meetings, including preparing agendas, taking minutes, tracking actions, and organising supporting materials.
- Ability to build strong working relationships across departments and operate with confidence and independence while representing the Director and wider Directorate.
