Working closely with colleagues and stakeholders across high-impact areas, the role contributes to providing critical insight and challenge to ensure performance is accurately understood, effectively communicated and aligned with business objectives. This includes delivering high quality analysis and commentary to support key submissions and inform senior level decision making.

Reporting to the SPPS Performance manager, the role provides essential analytical and reporting support during a transformative period of growth under the RIIO-T3 and RIIO-ED3 price controls and beyond. The Performance Accountant plays an important role in supporting accurate financial insight and enabling effective decision‑making across the business.

This includes monitoring and challenging financial and non‑financial performance, fostering strong cross‑functional relationships, and supporting both the Performance Manager and wider team as required. You will also contribute to Group and Board reporting, clearly articulating insights for your areas of responsibility.

Additionally, you will help drive continuous improvement by challenging existing processes and shaping new ways of working across emerging SPPS areas. You will promote a positive team environment, ensure compliance with Group policies and maintain a strong internal control framework. Through documentation, review and ongoing optimisation of procedures, you will help enhance efficiency, accuracy and strategic alignment across the business.
