Maintain a safe, secure, and reliable transmission network through the development of robust network risk models and methodologies, while maximising system performance for customers and stakeholders in both the short and long term to ensure enduring resilience.

What You’ll Be Doing
Maintain a safe, secure, and reliable transmission network through the development of robust network risk models and methodologies, while maximising system performance for customers and stakeholders in both the short and long term to ensure enduring resilience.
- Act as SPT Lead in developing NARM methodology and network risk modelling.
- Lead network risk modelling in preparation for regulatory price control submissions, ensuring compliance with requirements.
- Support the NARM Reporting Manager with close-out reporting for regulatory price controls.
- Drive long-term asset stewardship and network development to maximise regulatory performance while maintaining system integrity; contribute to the Asset Stewardship Group.
- Ensure effective tools are in place to manage asset risk and identify process improvement opportunities.
- Coordinate development of NARM and non-NARM asset health measures aligned to investment plans; develop asset intervention models.
- Align Asset Management Strategy with SPEN objectives and communicate to key stakeholders.
- Engage internal stakeholders to reinforce the importance of high-quality asset data and investment justification.
- Represent SPEN with industry stakeholders, supporting the development of network risk management and promoting SPEN’s position.
- Lead asset data initiatives to enhance risk modelling capability and continuously improve asset management systems.
- Degree educated, ideally in an engineering discipline.
- Strong knowledge of transmission networks, their technical challenges, and stakeholder requirements.
- Ability to translate strategy into actionable policies and delivery plans.
- Experience influencing and collaborating with senior stakeholders internally and externally.
- Strong commercial awareness of risk and value within energy networks.
- Proven leadership skills, creating direction and fostering a productive team environment.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills, including engagement with industry bodies.
- Strong problem-solving ability with innovative thinking.
- Experience managing large-scale financial plans (c. £80m p.a.) with focus on value delivery.
- Degree qualified.
- Knowledge of transmission networks and associated challenges.
- Expert in the health and risk modelling of physical assets
- Engineering experience with risk and financial management.
- Experience managing both short- and long-term deliverables.
- Proven stakeholder management and influencing skills.
- Understanding of industry health & safety requirements.
- Flexibility to travel across SPT licence areas and other locations when required.
- Competence aligned to Chartered IET membership standards.
