Purpose
Providing leadership in the management of data related to the asset management functions of the SP Transmission business, you will analyse data, provide insights and lead engagement in industry working groups and collaborative activities across the business.
Additionally, you will be responsible for developing new methods to improve capability, advise on asset performance and risk whilst ensuring the efficient management of network assets and delivery of outputs.
Responsibilities
Managing significant volumes of data to enable development of strategic long-term asset risk plans and the management and review of these through effective communication with the Transmission licence functions, you will lead the continuous improvement of the Network Asset Risk Metric (NARM) reporting during the RIIO (Revenues Incentives Innovation Outputs) Price Controls using a data driver approach.
Leading the development and implementation of adequate tools to properly manage Network Asset Risk and annual reporting against the Baseline Risk Outputs, you will be required to assess the network risk impact of changes in the asset management plan delivery, ensuring all variances are well documented and justified in line with the current regulatory framework.
Analysing diverse data sets across the SP Transmission business to ensure that asset intervention plans are well evidenced, reflective of business need and reflect a cost-effective delivery which delivers benefit for the business and consumers, you will develop network policies and strategies to achieve this in a coordinated manner.
Ensuring asset condition data is used consistently in SP Transmission within the NARM methodology to inform asset management decisions and regulatory reporting obligations, you will identify asset insights from the detailed assessment of asset data to inform our asset management approach.
Producing NARM related annual regulatory reporting to ensure compliance with the Licence Obligations, you will engage with key industry stakeholders on the technical development of asset modelling and network risk management, ensuring that SP Energy Network’s position is well understood and viewed favourably.
Organising and planning workload across multiple simultaneous activities, you will be required to align with deadlines and competing pressures from various parties.
What you’ll bring
Educated to degree in Electrical Engineering, Data Science or possessing relevant experience, you will hold Chartered Membership of the IET, or equivalent, or be working towards this.
With expert knowledge of NARM methodology and its application to the Transmission network, you will possess experience and knowledge of physical assets and their management, including skill in programming/coding, data management and presentation.
As a strong communicator (written and verbal) you will be able to effectively present and report information to all, having good influencing and collaborative skills as well as excellent customer service to exceed expectations.
It is essential to have an understanding and awareness of key business drivers including commercial context in which SP Energy Networks operates and can balance customer service, financial obligations and environmental and safety priorities.
You will be comfortable managing and analysing large, diverse data sets and presenting key metrics to influence business decision making.
