IT Operational Resilience Lead
Operational Resilience Lead
Location: Glasgow – hybrid working
Salary: £61-77K (plus up to 15% bonus and private healthcare cover)
Permanent, Full Time
Help us create a better future, quicker
We’re recruiting for a senior leader to play a pivotal role within the TPOC Infrastructure / Digital Transformation team, driving the convergence of cyber, business and technology resilience into a unified, forward‑looking operational resilience function. This position sits at the crossroads of strategy and execution, shaping governance, managing risk and delivering assurance to strengthen our overall digital resilience in line with regulatory expectations across the Energy & Utilities sector.
What you’ll be doing
As the Operational Resilience Lead, you will define and own the governance framework that underpins our resilience posture, guiding the evolution of a cohesive capability that brings together business continuity, disaster recovery, cyber resilience and technology resilience. You’ll champion a resilience‑first mindset across the organisation, ensuring that core disciplines — from project delivery and risk management to enterprise architecture and cyber security — embed resilience into their ways of working from design through implementation.
Working closely with programme leads, technical teams and senior stakeholders, you’ll ensure resilience requirements are fully integrated. You’ll lead on developing and maintaining the processes, controls and risk management activities that govern operational resilience, while also designing a robust assurance and testing programme that validates capability through scenario exercises, tabletop simulations and technical testing.
You’ll act as a key point of expertise for regulatory compliance, supporting engagements related to frameworks such as NIS2, CAF, ISO 22301, ISO 27001 and NIST, and staying ahead of the evolving regulatory landscape to ensure our approach remains aligned with sector expectations. Alongside this, you’ll engage with senior leaders to shape meaningful metrics, KPIs and OKRs, maintaining a continuous improvement plan that clearly communicates progress and maturity.
What you’ll bring
The role is suited to someone with significant experience across disciplines such as Disaster Recovery, Business Continuity and Operational Resilience, ideally with exposure to Critical National Infrastructure and, preferably, the Energy & Utilities sector. You’ll bring a proven ability to collaborate with senior leadership to shape strategic roadmaps, and a track record of building trusted relationships across technical and non‑technical teams, including risk, audit, legal and regulatory stakeholders. Hands‑on experience delivering technology and cyber resilience across cloud, on‑premise and hybrid environments will be key.
Success in this role requires the ability to balance strategic oversight with operational delivery, communicating complex resilience concepts in a clear and accessible way and navigating diverse viewpoints to drive alignment. Professional certifications such as CBCI, MBCI, CISSP, CISM or ISO 22301 auditor/implementer credentials are highly desirable, as is a degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
If you’re passionate about shaping a future‑ready operational resilience capability within a critical national industry, this role offers the opportunity to lead meaningful, organisation‑wide impact.
What’s in it for you
As well as a competitive salary which is reviewed annually, you can also enjoy a number of other benefits. With our pension scheme, we’ll double match your contribution up to a company contribution of 10%.
