As Head of Audit, you will improve governance, risk management and internal control of the Technology environment by providing risk based and objective independent assurance, advice and insight over key Technology (Cyber & IT) risks, processes, projects and controls and its alignment with key business objectives. You will advocate and promote the value of internal audit as an independent function that actively supports the delivery of key business objectives.

What you’ll be Doing
- Lead production of IT & Cyber reports and deliverables for SPEN/SP/Iberdrola governance bodies to support the Iberdrola Groups’ commitment to best practice corporate governance.
- Compliance with quality and coordination requirements as set out in the Iberdrola Basic Internal Audit Regulations and the International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing from the Chartered Institute of Internal Auditors
- Influence Scottish Power management groups to improve governance, risk management and internal control processes.
- Attendance at Scottish Power internal control related committees, groups to monitor/ influence the implementation of control mechanisms and systems (for example Cyber Security and Data Protection Committee, Steering groups etc.)
- Ensure that Scottish Power Senior Management and relevant Business Heads of Audit, understand Technology conclusions and take action to address the recommendations made in Internal Audit reports. Where action is not taken ensure that this is escalated to the relevant Directors, IBE IT audit team, and the Scottish Power Director of Internal Audit.
- Own the development & delivery of the annual audit plan for SP Technology and Cyber to ensure it provides assurance over the key risks, governance and internal control systems of ScottishPower and delivers global Iberdrola and wider ScottishPower requirements.
- Communicate the results of audit work to all relevant stakeholders including ScottishPower Management team, relevant Business Heads of Audit, SP Director/HoIA, Iberdrola chief audit executive
- Attract, retain, develop and supervise a proficient Internal Audit Team. In particular, ensuring that the Internal Audit team has sufficient relevant IT and Cyber skills
- Support delivery of the SP Innovation Plan which includes developing the audit methodology/approach to maximise efficiency and coverage, and adoption of best practices, use of data and innovation.
- Ensuring a client focus, working with agility, working in an aligned way with other assurance providers within Scottish Power and driving the use of automated audit techniques and data analytics
- Provide technical support for data analytics in data extraction
- Extensive experience of risk based Internal Auditing in a large company, including expert knowledge of International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Audit
- Expert IT and Cyber audit knowledge and experience
- Expert understanding of risk management internal control and governance
- Ability to manage a wide and diverse number of senior stakeholders
- Strong Commercial awareness and understanding of the ScottishPower business within the context of the wider Iberdrola group, including the main risks faced, key projects, etc including Cyber and IT risks
- Highly developed communications and influencing skills, including the ability to challenge senior management
- Appropriate experience in a management/leadership role
- High degree of professional integrity
- Educated to degree level
- IT and/or Cyber qualification is essential
- Internal Audit qualification is desirable
- Educated to degree level
- Experience in management/leadership role
- Extensive experience of risk based Internal Auditing in a large company
- IT and/or Cyber Qualification
