Help us create a better future, quicker

Are you ready to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of cyber security across one of the UK’s major energy providers? ScottishPower is looking for an experienced cyber security leader to help drive the delivery of our UK‑wide cyber security strategy and strengthen our security posture across all business areas.

What you'll be doing

Reporting to the Cyber Security Consultancy Manager, you will take ownership of defining and delivering programmes that align with ScottishPower’s overarching cyber security strategy. You’ll assess existing capabilities, identify gaps, and lead initiatives that ensure continuous improvement. With a strong focus on business alignment, you’ll provide expert guidance, translate complex risks into clear, actionable insights, and help us stay ahead of emerging threats.

This role is central to supporting compliance with key regulatory frameworks including NIS, GDPR, ISO27001 and SMART. You’ll work collaboratively across all ScottishPower businesses, building strong, influential relationships and ensuring best practice is shared and embedded throughout the organisation. From managing the delivery of major cyber security projects to driving awareness and uplifting staff capability, your impact will be felt across the entire UK operation.

What you'll bring

We’re looking for someone with highly specialised technical knowledge, backed by industry qualifications such as GICSP, GCIP, CISSP or CISM. You’ll bring expert understanding of cyber security regulations within the UK energy sector, deep experience in risk management, and the ability to evaluate complex technical designs across IT and OT environments. Strong communication skills are essential, as is the ability to think strategically, adapt quickly and build trust with stakeholders at every level. Acting as a trusted advisor, you’ll also collaborate with government agencies, regulators, industry bodies and internal committees to ensure our approach remains robust, aligned and future‑proof.

This role requires SC clearance and the confidence to operate in a dynamic, high‑stakes environment where integrity, emotional maturity and a global outlook are key.

If you’re motivated by the opportunity to influence strategy, lift capability and help protect critical national infrastructure, this is your chance to make a meaningful impact at scale. Reach out to learn more or express your interest.

What’s in it for you

As well as a competitive salary which is reviewed annually, you can also enjoy a number of other benefits. With our pension scheme, we’ll double match your contribution up to a company contribution of 10%.
