Join us as a Logistics Team Member within SP Energy Networks and become part of the SPD (ScottishPower Distribution) team, working closely with colleagues across ScottishPower. This is a varied and hands‑on role where no two days are the same — from managing stock and supporting major projects to ensuring safe and efficient operations across our sites.
You’ll have the opportunity to develop your skills in logistics, safety, and project delivery, all within a supportive team environment where collaboration and regular safety briefs are part of everyday working life.

What You’ll Be Doing
As a Logistics Team Member, you’ll play a key role in ensuring business continuity by making sure materials are delivered on time and in full, while always working safely.
Day To Day, You’ll
- Take delivery of goods and supplies and store them appropriately.
- Liaise with districts on next‑day requirements to provide an efficient collection service for plant and cable.
- Manage contractor areas within the yard, ensuring safe operation in controlled spaces.
- Monitor and control waste, arranging uplifts with suppliers and keeping areas tidy.
- Move stock using lifting equipment or forklift trucks.
- Keep accurate stock records and carry out weekly counts locally and across the network.
- Work closely with district staff to ensure a pipeline of materials for major projects.
- Maintain paperwork and digital records.
- Operate safely in line with health, safety, and environmental requirements.
- Handle hazardous materials appropriately.
- Support the wider Logistics Team with operational needs and general administration.
We’re looking for someone who can combine strong organisational skills with a practical, hands‑on approach. You’ll bring:
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Strong planning, organisation, and time management abilities.
- A flexible approach and the ability to prioritise tasks.
- Confidence working both independently and as part of a team.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Familiarity with SAP, Plant and Circuits, and Business Objects (desirable).
- A valid clean driving licence (Class 2 preferable but not essential).
- Experience operating forklift trucks (counterbalance preferred).
- The ability to conduct safety walkrounds and risk assessments.
