Purpose
SP Energy Networks (SPEN) will be delivering £5.4b of investment in the GB electricity grid over the next 5 years.
As part of this, ScottishPower Transmission (SPT) Strategic Projects will be delivering a £2.4b portfolio of new overhead lines and new and upgraded substations, including design, engineering, construction and electrical works.
Reporting to the Strategic Portfolio Governance, Reporting & Change Lead, the Strategic Portfolio PMO Analyst is a key member of the SPT Strategic Portfolio PMO team, supporting the Strategic Portfolio’s governance framework and associated reporting dashboards.
This role is responsible for providing insightful analysis, supporting performance monitoring and delivering accurate management information.
Responsibilities
Working collaboratively with Project Managers, Delivery & Development teams, Engineering, Commercial and additional stakeholders, you will gather accurate data, validate project progress and maintain consistency in reporting, compiling and supporting delivery of high-quality PowerBI reports and dashboards for use in governance forums which provide clear insights into project actions, progress, costs and risks.
Maintaining the PMO SharePoint site with latest documentation, knowledge management, training materials and other resources to support project teams, you will support governance meetings by capturing and tracking actions, decisions and risks, whilst supporting the PMO team in achieving and maintaining high standards of data quality across the portfolio.
Analysing and interpreting project and portfolio data to identify trends, gaps and opportunities for improvement, contributing to enhanced reporting processes and decision-making, you will also assist in the gathering of KPI information from external partners and internal project teams, supporting coordination and stakeholder engagement across the portfolio, helping to manage overlaps, dependencies and risks.
Supporting compliance with established project governance processes, continuous improvement of tools, templates and reporting standards, you will also support production of ad-hoc reports and analysis for consumption by PMO Capability Leads, contributing to the development of PMO maturity by supporting the rollout of best practices, guidance, training materials and onboarding for new PMO team members or project stakeholders.
Additionally, you will be required to provide ad-hoc support for specific Strategic PMO initiatives.
What you’ll bring
Working within a multi-project environment with time-constrained deadlines, you will possess an ability to quickly adjust to changing priorities and requirements in a dynamic environment.
With strong collaboration skills and an ability to build effective working relationships to ensure alignment across teams, maintaining accurate data and consistent reporting, you will be familiar with governance processes, standard PMO tools, templates and reporting standards.
Possessing an ability to support high standards of data quality, identify inconsistencies, ensuring accuracy and high-quality reporting, you will be familiar with coordinating governance meetings, documenting actions, outcomes and producing ad-hoc reports for leadership.
With strong organisational skills, being able to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment, you will possess clear and concise communication skills, both written and verbal, to convey complex information to stakeholders at all levels.
Competent in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Power BI, you will possess excellent analytical, planning and organisational skills with a strong attention to detail.
