Finance Manager - Sustainability Reporting

The Finance team supports enterprise performance, governance and long-term value creation through disciplined financial management and reporting. Within Finance, the Sustainability Reporting team leads the measurement, analysis and reporting of sustainability performance, ensuring the Group meets its reporting obligations and provides trusted information to support decision-making and stakeholder confidence

This role sits within the Finance team and reports to the Senior Manager, Sustainability Reporting.

The role leads a team of Senior Analysts and works closely with Risk & Internal Audit, Finance, Legal & Company Secretariat, Corporate Affairs, Investor Relations, Operations, Energy, Design & Construction teams, external auditors and consultants.

The role partners across our business to ensure sustainability information is robust, reliable and integrated into reporting, planning and decision-making processes.

Core responsibilities:

  • Translate sustainability and climate data into financial outcomes, ensuring accurate, decision-ready reporting across the business.
  • Support the Senior Manager in preparing the annual Sustainability Report for inclusion in the Annual Report.
  • Draft Board papers for the Risk & Sustainability and Audit & Finance Committees.
  • Lead Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions reporting and data preparation for ASRS and NGER compliance.
  • Develop climate resilience modelling to assess scenarios and quantify impacts on cash flow, assets, impairments and capital allocation.
  • Partner with Finance and Operations to embed climate risk into strategic planning and capital investment decisions.
  • Maintain Basis of Preparation documentation, supporting management assumptions and external assurance activities.
  • Lead ESG reporting system enhancements to improve data quality, efficiency and reporting capability.
  • Manage benchmarking submissions (e.g. NGER, ISS, MSCI, CDP, GRESB) and support investor enquiries

What sets you apart

  • Relevant experience in sustainability reporting, financial reporting, audit, accounting or a related finance environment, supported by CA, CPA or equivalent qualifications.
  • Strong knowledge of sustainability reporting frameworks, climate-related disclosures and regulatory requirements, including emerging ESG obligations.(preferred)
  • Proven experience partnering with auditors, assurance providers and senior stakeholders to deliver high-quality reporting outcomes in complex organisations.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex sustainability, climate and regulatory requirements into practical business and reporting outcomes.(preferred)
  • Strong financial and analytical capability, with experience assessing climate-related risks, opportunities and financial impacts to support strategic decision-making.
  • Experience developing robust reporting, governance and assurance frameworks that strengthen data integrity, compliance and stakeholder confidence.
  • Commercially minded communicator who can build strong relationships across Finance, Risk, Operations and broader business teams.
  • Proactive, solutions-focused leader with excellent attention to detail, resilience, and a track record of improving reporting processes, controls and ways of working.
