Programme Executive/Project Manager – Public Sector Renewable Energy Services


Location can be: Dublin, Dundalk, Cork, or Sligo and 2 days in the office per week.

Contract: 12‑month fixed term contract.


You will join a team within the Public Sector and Regulatory Department. This role supports national climate action objectives by helping public bodies improve energy efficiency and reduce emissions by 2030. You will work closely with mentors and stakeholders to deliver standardised supports, technical assistance, events, training, and strategic engagement to approximately 350 public bodies. This is an exciting opportunity to join an innovative, mission‑driven team supporting Ireland’s climate and energy goals.


Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate a panel of energy experts delivering core services to public bodies
  • Manage delivery of annual reviews, modelling exercises, and analysis
  • Develop & streamline support services to assist organisations decarbonising their energy use
  • Organise events, training schedules, and networking initiatives
  • Contribute to communication materials, case studies, and webinars
  • Represent the programme at meetings, events, and site visits
  • Support programme delivery across the wider department
  • Assist with budget coordination and cost‑management activities

Essential Requirements

  • Degree (NFQ Level 7 or above) in Business, Science, Technology, Building Services etc
  • Minimum 3 years’ relevant experience directly relevant experience working in this sector or in a similar role -postgraduate studies considered.
  • Experience building relationships with int/external stakeholders
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills (inc report writing, presenting and public speaking) with an ability to communicate complex concepts to non-technical audience
  • Strong IT skills


Desirable Experience

• Experience in the sustainable energy sector

• Public sector experience

• Budget and cost‑management experience

• Project management exposure

• Knowledge of decarbonisation, energy efficiency, or building services

• Irish language
