BD Manager for Vista Global Energy - a fully owned subsidiary of Samsung C&T Corporation


Duties and Responsibilities:


Project Origination and Greenfield Development

  • Lead generation: Source and qualify viable utility-scale solar and BESS opportunities across target regional markets.
  • Permitting management: Navigate local regulatory frameworks to secure environmental, zoning, construction and other relevant permits/approvals.
  • Transaction & Process Management: Determine business/investment structures, conduct business case analysis and manage all internal approval processes.
  • Project deliverables: Lead the preparation and coordinate the development of the project/ tender deliverables in coordination with cross-functional teams


Commercial Negotiation & Partnership

  • PPA negotiation: Lead discussions for Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) with corporate off-takers or state utilities.
  • Local partnerships: Identify and manage local co-developers and joint-venture partners.
  • Stakeholder relations: Build deep relationships with regional energy ministries, regulators, and government bodies.


Financial & Strategy Alignment

  • Business case creation: Collaborate with financial modeling teams to ensure projects meet financial return targets.
  • Investment committees: Prepare and present investment memos to the management team for project funding approval.
  • Market intelligence: Good understanding of the energy market, as well as the risks and value drivers in solar PV and BES projects.


Skills and Competency:

  • Contractual expertise: Deep familiarity with PPAs, Equipment Lease Agreement, Joint Development Agreements (JDAs), etc
  • Financial acumen: Ability to interpret financial models, understand project finance structures, and identify key tariff drivers.
  • Cross-border deal making: Proven ability to close deals across culturally diverse business environments.
  • Stakeholder Management: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders


Qualification and Experience:

  • Degree: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
  • Years of experience: 8-10 years in the energy/renewable sector
  • Industry track record: Proven list of utility-scale projects successfully developed and executed
  • Travel readiness: Willingness to travel frequently from the Singapore base to regional project sites and offices.
