"BE THE CATALYST THAT DRIVES REAL CHANGE FOR OUR PLANET."

Samsara Eco has one clear mission: to repair our planet through infinite plastic recycling. Yes, it’s a mighty mission but it’s something every single one of us here at Samsara Eco is determined to achieve. And it’s what motivates us to dedicate our time and energy to every single day.

Our technology is like our team. One of a kind. And we know that, so while we are creating technology to repair our planet, we’re also building a great place to grow careers. A place where everyone can do the best work of their life, making meaningful impact on our planet and ourselves.

Who We Are...

We’re a biotech innovator repairing our planet through infinite recycling. We’re taking the 10 billion tonnes of plastics and textiles wasting away in landfill and our environment, and recycling it, infinitely to create a truly circular loop for packaging, clothing, airbags and everything in between.

It means brands can make the products we all know and love without the environmental damage. Because by using what we already have, we can end the world’s reliance on dirty fossil fuels to slow climate change and ensure we have a liveable planet for future generations.

THE ROLE...

We’re looking for a Project Engineer to help deliver some of the most exciting and technically ambitious capital projects at Samsara Eco — where engineering meets sustainability innovation.

In this role, you’ll be the technical linchpin connecting project managers, process and design engineers, and external partners to turn cutting-edge concepts into real, operating assets.

You’ll ensure mechanical scopes are interpreted, procured, and delivered to spec — on time, on budget, and built to last. From vendor coordination and equipment procurement through to constructability and commissioning, you’ll play a critical role in bringing our advanced recycling technology to life.

This is a hands-on, high-impact engineering role — perfect for someone who thrives in complex project environments and enjoys bridging detailed technical work with practical on-the-ground execution.

Location: Jerrabomberra, NSW/ACT border (approx. 30 mins from Canberra CBD)

Key Responsibilities...

Project Engineering & Delivery

  • Partner with project managers to deliver multiple capital projects from concept through commissioning.
  • Translate design documentation into clear, procurement-ready scopes and supplier packages.
  • Coordinate across disciplines — mechanical, process, electrical, controls, and civil — to ensure seamless integration and constructability.
  • Track progress across design, procurement, fabrication, and installation stages, driving accountability and momentum.
  • Support project controls, scheduling, and cost tracking using tools such as MS Project or Smartsheet.
  • Apply experience with stage-gate or FEED/EPC delivery frameworks to ensure consistent, disciplined execution.

Vendor & Contractor Interface

  • Act as the primary technical contact between Samsara and external vendors or contractors.
  • Review and approve vendor drawings, data, and documentation for compliance with project requirements.
  • Coordinate and expedite approvals, deliveries, and quality checks to maintain project timelines.
  • Support FATs, inspections, and resolution of technical issues or non-conformances.
  • Integrate inputs from multiple engineering disciplines into unified, practical project solutions.

Procurement & Expediting

  • Collaborate with procurement and supply chain teams to prepare RFQs, evaluate technical bids, and select the best-fit suppliers.
  • Proactively manage long-lead items — anticipating risks, resolving issues early, and keeping projects on track.
  • Maintain visibility over procurement milestones and logistics plans.
  • Work confidently with international suppliers (China, Europe, US) and negotiate both technical and commercial terms.

Engineering & Technical Support

  • Provide mechanical and technical insight across equipment selection, materials, layout, and system integration.
  • Support design and review of piping systems, pressure vessels, rotating equipment, and utilities.
  • Conduct constructability and operability reviews to ensure efficient installation and long-term maintainability.
  • Verify compliance with relevant Australian and international standards (AS1210, AS4041, ASME, etc.), safety codes, and environmental requirements.
  • Support commissioning, start-up, and handover to operations as part of a multidisciplinary project team.

You...

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Chartered Engineer (CPEng) or progressing toward professional recognition.
  • Experience in mechanical or project engineering within chemical, manufacturing, or process industries.
  • Proven track record delivering mechanical scopes in capital project environments.
  • Strong technical understanding of piping, pressure systems, rotating equipment, and utilities.
  • Skilled in interpreting and reviewing engineering drawings, P&IDs, datasheets, and vendor deliverables.
  • Excellent communicator — comfortable working across engineering, procurement, construction, and operations interfaces.
  • Confident engaging with fabricators, OEM vendors, and contractors in the field.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and familiar with engineering workflows and project tracking systems.
  • Knowledge of Australian mechanical and process equipment standards, with exposure to HAZOP or process safety reviews.
