Role Overview

REC Traders evaluate AI-generated content using their renewable energy and REC trading expertise, creating expert training data and feedback that improves AI understanding of renewable generation workflows, REC trading, and compliance practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Use your hands-on experience in renewable energy generation, REC trading, and portfolio management to assess AI outputs for technical accuracy and practical relevance.
  • Create expert-level training data that reflects real-world workflows, system behavior, and compliance requirements.
  • Provide clear, detailed feedback on AI-generated responses to help refine model behavior and domain correctness.
  • Work independently and asynchronously with AI research teams to review tasks and deliver evaluations.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years of professional experience in renewable energy generation, REC trading, or renewable portfolio management in roles such as Renewable Generation Analyst, REC Trader, Renewable Portfolio Analyst, or equivalent energy industry positions.
  • Hands-on experience with one or more of the following tools: AVEVA PI, WREGIS, Power BI.
  • Strong written communication skills, high attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and asynchronously with remote teams.
  • No prior AI experience required.
Work Terms
  • Engagement type: part-time, hourly contract work, not a traditional full-time employment role.
  • Location: fully remote.
  • Schedule: flexible and asynchronous, with no minimum hour requirement; most contributors work approximately 5 to 20 hours per week when participating in an active project.
  • Project availability: placement and assignment depend on current project needs. Contributors may be considered for future projects as those become available.
  • This is an ongoing, project-based opportunity that can be taken alongside other commitments.
Compensation

Up to $85/hr (depending on the project)

Eligibility
  • Ability to work as an independent contractor on hourly projects.
  • At least 2 years of relevant renewable energy industry experience as described in Qualifications.
  • Access to your own equipment and internet connection to complete remote, asynchronous work.
