About RPCSO

RPCSO (Rugged Point Coastal Science Observatory) is deploying Cascadia Sentinel, a multi-domain Earth-systems observatory that fuses atmospheric, oceanic, terrestrial, geomagnetic, ionospheric, hydrological, and environmental sensor data on a shared, GNSS-synchronized timebase with sub-microsecond precision. The pilot node is being commissioned at the University of Victoria, BC, then deployed at Rugged Point on the outer coast of British Columbia, delivering real-time and historical data through an API.

Cascadia Sentinel is built for climate-tech, weather-tech, geospatial AI, hazard-science, and environmental-intelligence companies that need high-precision, multi-domain environmental data for modeling, prediction, and operational decision-making. We are launching our early-partner program during commissioning, and this role owns it.

The Role

You will be our first commercial hire and own the sales function end to end:

  • Lead outbound sales to climate-tech, weather-tech, geospatial AI, hazard-science, and environmental-intelligence companies
  • Manage the full cycle from first contact through qualification, technical alignment, and subscription close
  • Run API demos, technical briefings, and partner onboarding
  • Build and maintain a high-velocity early-partner pipeline
  • Negotiate and close subscription agreements
  • Support partners integrating our real-time and historical API into their models and pipelines
  • Prepare sales collateral, partner briefs, and integration guidance
  • Represent RPCSO at climate-tech events, virtual or in person
  • Feed partner requirements back to engineering, and help shape commercial strategy as additional Sentinel nodes come online

You will work directly with ownership, with fast decisions and no layers.

What You Need

You do not need to be a scientist, but you must be able to explain clearly, to both technical and executive audiences: GNSS time synchronization, multi-domain sensor fusion, environmental data APIs, and training data requirements for AI models.

Likely backgrounds: climate-tech or weather-tech sales, geospatial AI platforms, environmental intelligence, atmospheric or oceanographic data organizations, hazard-science or GNSS-based sensing, or commercially focused developer relations.

You should be commercially driven, technically articulate, comfortable with CTOs, scientists, and AI teams, and able to make complex systems simple.

Compensation

This is an early-stage role and compensation is structured individually. The package combines a cash component (contract retainer or salary, depending on fit and timing), commission on subscription revenue you close, and share options. We will design the mix with you based on your situation and ours. The ranges listed on this posting reflect the cash and equity components; commission is additional and uncapped.

Location

Remote, global. Possible periodic travel to Vancouver Island (Rugged Point and Victoria, BC, Canada).

How to Apply

  • Apply with your CV, a short summary of relevant commercial experience, and examples or links to climate-tech, geospatial, or environmental-data sales work if available.
